Burnley's pre-season friendly with German side Hannover 96 was abandoned at half-time following ugly scenes at Turf Moor.

Riot police were called in when supporters of the visiting side tried to attack home fans, with seats ripped out and hurled.

The Premier League side were leading 1-0 thanks to a goal from Ben Mee when the decision was made to call off the match following advice from police and discussions during the interval.
