N-power And Its Modern Slavery - How True? by Sammyramires(m): 12:13pm On Aug 14, 2017 |
N-Power, as introduced by the Federal Government of Nigeria was said to be the antidote to ailment of Unemployment and Joblessness amongst the teeming Graduates and the Non Graduates littering the country. However, a close observation must be made about the Terms and Conditions of this "Greek Gift'', as the narration below explains. *A man (name withheld) who had been job-hunting many years after his National Service went to a ministry (name withheld) for an interview. Luckily for him he wowed the interviewers, and subsequently was given the job. However, before his assumption of office he was asked to provide his account details which will be used during salary disbursement. While this was going, it was discovered that his BVN had been registered on N-Power which invariably qualifies him as a "dual salary earner'' under Treasury Single Account (TSA). To cut the story short, he was asked to go. Now To The Questions That Troubles Mind: 1) Is N-Power now a catalyst to one losing a better Federal Government Job in the present or nearest future because of BVN inclusion? 2) Why was the Salary not more than the meagre #30,000 when what you seek to achieve is to make the unemployed financially free without thinking of other Federal Government Job within the stipulated years of contract? 3) What will be the fate of N-Power applicants whose BVN had been registered on the site and is yet to be enlisted for service under the scheme? I think Nigerians should henceforth ask questions before taking everything that seems juicy and less strenuous in process. Written By Sammyramires✍ 11 Likes

@Op you have a vital point, but i think there is an avenue to handle such situation. It is either you pull out of Npower, so you data will be deactivated from their data base. I belief there will surely be a way out. My personal suggestion, i haven't applied for Npower before. 4 Likes 1 Share |

Dammmmmn The company was just looking for an excuse not to take him on for the job. What does it really take to ask him to drop his N-power job, deactivate his account and start a new life? Something he'd have gladly done. Wicked company.lol 14 Likes 1 Share |

Lies you don't get interviewed to work in the ministry, the employment is done at the level of Civil service commission, NPower is not under IPPIS platform, that's the platform used to pay government staffs, TSA has nothing to do with salaries 39 Likes 3 Shares |

Anybody employed by N-Power should kiss goodbye to any other federal employment, as well as any of the grants and loan schemes for entrepreneurs such as YouWIN Connect. You probably have to resign (with three months notice or pay them back three months pay) before you can resume. 1 Like |

You were idle with no job, you have gone through alot, moved and littered around still no job. Now the government came with a scheme with a pad, that will develop you, give you opportunity to add to society with a token for you and some incentives. Now you said its slavery because you won't be able to be employed in any Government work. Why didn't you get the government work all this years? Who forced you to apply for the job? Why is the Nigerian youth so lazy full of complaints? Do you want to obtain two salaries at same time? So while you wait for a job you have not seen & May not see, you preferred to stay at home useless. If you don't want to be slave to nobody, be creative, setup and finance yourself. Or go and learn a job/or work. Don't be useless. 32 Likes |
