BOMB!! Man City ‘to Buy’ Leo Messi, Will Meet Barcelona's World Release Clause by SportBlogger(m): 1:06pm On Aug 20, 2017 |
Yahoo Sport France have dropped a bombshell on Sunday. Manchester City are ready to shatter the world transfer record signing Barcelona icon Leo Messi. Is that completely impossible? After Neymar left Barcelona to PSG this summer, nothing looks impossible anymore in football. Who is the source? Yahoo Sport France credit journalist Romain Collet-Gaudin with the story. According to his sources,Man City are ready to meet Leo Messi 300 million euro release clause. In a very bold tweet, it’s reported that “Manchester City are going to buy Leo Messi”. ⚠️#ManchesterCityva tout faire pour acheter#Messi,#ManCityest prêt à payer la clause de 300M€ ! (Via@RomainCG75) pic.twitter.com/l1s5ZhbRbX — Yahoo Sport France (@YahooSportFR) August 20, 2017 Messi still hasn’t signed The Man City transfer rumour comes a couple of days after it was revealed that Leo Messi hasn’t signed his Barcelona contract renewal. Barcelona revealed last month that the five-time Ballon d’Or winner, 30, had agreed a fresh deal which will see him stay at Camp Nou until 2021. A press release on the club’s website stated: “The deal will be signed in thecoming weeks, when Messi returns to the team for pre-season training.” But last week Bacelona confirmed the deal has yet to be finalised. Why is there a hold up? Is Messi considering his options? Messi follows Man CityAt the same time, rumours are flying about that Leo Messi has begun following Man City on Instagram. Messi, of course, used to work alongside Man City boss Pep Guardiola at the Camp Nou. MESSI’S FOLLOWING! He has started following City on instagram!! Barcelona would never let their star player go, and would instead raise his salary for him to stay at Barca! Neymar and Suarez can go, and Barca could still buy other players to play with Messi... but if Messi go then they will be doomed! |

MrBrownJay1:Then you don't know how release clauses work. In footballing contracts, once a player's release clause is met, his club is mandated to release him to the club that activated it, no matter what. Do you think Barça wanted Neymar to go? They never did but their hands were tied because PSG effectively activated his release clause and Neymar already agreed personal terms. |

NeeKlaus: Barca were happy to make a buck while selling Neymar for so much money because their whole team does NOT revolve around him... now for Messi, it is a different ball game. furthermore, PSG did put a bid for Messi in 2013, and of course he turned it down, because REMEMBER the ultimate point here, unless the player wishes to move, this is irrelevant (aka both the team AND player must accept to go). btw: do you think that Barca wouldnt raise/double Messi's salary if he wanted to go to PSG?! |

MrBrownJay1:Yeah, same point I made. AS LONG AS A PLAYER WISHES TO LEAVE, and his clause is activated, then his club must sell him. And No, Barça didn't want to let Neymar leave. They knew his worth. Why did you think he was later called names like "Traitor" and all that after he left. Now, see how they are desperately trying to replace him. They didn't want to let him go, Bruh. And as regards Barca doubling Messi's wages to make him stay, I hope you know it's left for him to accept the new contract or not. If he rejects it and another club comes knocking and he accepts the new club's offer, what do you think Barca can do in that scenario?? |
