Haba, why not read everything instead of inconclusive reading and wrong deduction. Its stated that all schools are at liberty to raise it to any level. Was JAMB really regulating admissions like this during your time nor was any minimum score set by JAMB?

Read and understand very well before commenting...Institutions are, however, at liberty to raise their cut off marks for admission above the minimum set by JAMB.

How can the cut-off mark differ between university and polytechnics and you expect the certificates to be equal.

Even if you made it to be 10 they would still not make it.

Wow! I can now see the reason why they re-introduce post-utme .... Those who got 100 and above will also pay for post-utme screening and in the end will be deny admission while the government/jamb and the institutions gets alot of money in return..... I am surprised no one here mentioned the most important news from the article, that is, the lifting of ban on post UME which will now make Universities conduct additional entrance examination. The last two years method of admission was really subjective and marked with fraud.

That is the minimum...and I doubt if higher JAMB scores is an accurate criteria to judge students' performance against their peers in subsequent or previous years.

Cut off points are relative i.e. Schools adjust them up/downward until they fill their quota, so for a year that most students score very high, it is natural for the cut off to be high and vi-sa-vi.

High/low JAMB scores between successive JAMB exams could be a function of the exam for that particular year....and not necessary because.... on average, all the students for certain years were brighter/less intelligent, compare to students from previous years.

Abeg must we all go to school? Funny enough Neymar(world record) didn't have school cert yet his trending pass Adamu Adamu and earning cool money. He put on singlet to sign for PSG but here in Nigeria you go put on the most expensive suit among your suits yet you won't be granted a job so why rushing into Education

Government what to use us as a source of avenue again, what how can cut off mark be 120 and 100.

That's suppose to be the point needed after the O level and the Jamb score has been graded.

Different from the normal jamb score cut off mark.

Its minimum cutoff not maximum which means universities can choose higher but not below . Simple English

you are talking of standard of education,there is no standard.what we have is money and connection.but dont u think that by making the cut of mark low,there would be no excuse for failing jamb due to cheating and special centres? lets say the truth academic institutions have made more money from failing students who truly deserve adm on merit and has made little money from those who bribed their way into universities that are alway7 a first choice anyday anytime.by plugging this mark to 120,its gud as there wud be no room for cheating and expo in thf minds of rich corrupt parents and university staffs and administrators.corruption has been dealt a fatal blow.anybody who scores 120/120 is a cheat and a fraud.
