It is the Gods that grant life and take it. The ritual taking of human life particularly without the knowledge of the sacrificial lamb is a precursor to obtaining Godhood, this is why for instance, YHWH stopped Abraham from taking the life of his son Isaac in sacrificial ritual. And when you have taken life in such circumstances, one is then consumed by an eternal darkness and no redemption is possible, not even the Archangels will have you.
