We shud critically look into nuclear (some African countries are using it), solar, wind, geothermal and other sources of power. I am tired of d boys in d creek blowing up pipelines and dry season problem

6 billion dollars for Mambila will generate 3000MW.

6 Billion dollars for solar will generate around 1200MW.

Engineering degree program in Nigeria is a fraud! I guess you should know better. The education system in Nigeria is a fraud on its own. Universities are only looking out for ways of milking Nigerians of their hard earned money in exchange for a sheet if paper.

Back to the subject of power projects. Nigeria has a lot of professors who are into electrical electronics, but guess what? They're just paper tigers who pride themselves in journals but not in patents or transfer of their theoretical knowledge into practical reality. Although we have some who are trying their best, the rest are just a bunch of crooks who want higher pay for churning out incompetent graduates.

One is hydroelectric power and the other is to be powered by natural gas. The hydro is driven by renewable resource (river water) while Dangote own will be driven by non-renewable resource. Dangote' s own is susceptible to failures in gas supply and availability of gas but hydropower only limitation is irregular rainfall and river water level. So, the question is which one of the two is more sustainable in the long term with the understanding that resource supply is not infinit. So, this may be factors that influence cost.
