you money is not enough. cost about 500k to ship and clear the car. Leaving 1m to buy and make profit. too low for what you are looking for. be realistic

@kunle.
Nope you are Wrong.
I already made my calculations & i have made room for a 50% profit for you.

my calculations:
buying good Accord from US Auction: $4,000-$4,500
**(Damaged cars are cheaper:$1,500-$2,500)**
Sending: $1,300-$1,500.
Clearing:180,000-220,000.
so do your calculation.

Note: i know its your business, so whatever gain you make isnt my business. all i want is a seller who is willing to collect my 1.5M for a clean EOD.

Without trying to sway your conviction, there is a clear difference between someone who lives here and attend auction weekly (that will be me) and you who is in Nigeria who sits behind a computer and base your judgement on the word of mouth or hearsay.
There is a reason that you haven't seen a Honda Accord of 2004 for N1.5, unless of course its got a problem. Nigerians are not that stupid. If it can be sold for that price, they will be selling them left and right.

The price you quoted is for an extremely clean 2001/2002. And even that, after you buy from the auction, you are forgetting that there will be transport cost to the port or how are you suppose to deliver it to the port? you can't walk to the auction, its not like is near your house. The auction and the port can't both be near your house i supposeĀ  undecided
There will be something to take care of after buying (buffing, detailing, servicing, tires, alignment etc) who will pay for that?

A 2003/04 Accord at the auction for $4,000 will definitley be around 150,000 miles (if not more) and won't be very clean either.
Will you buy it if i bring it down?

I want to be very honest with you, the specs you listed at the auction will be close to about $8000 for something anywhere near decent with clean CARFAX. Please post your pics if you get something you described in your price range.

Having lived here for close to 20years, I will like to think that i know what i am talking about but i am open to be corrected. We all learn everyday.

Check online and in case you see anything that matched ur criteria in your price range, pls forward to me: promise72@yahoo.com
I will assist you to coordinate the shipment down to Naija.

Good luck in your search.

EOD SELL FOR 1.6M CASH FOR SERIOUS BUYER IN NIGERIA, ALOT INSIST ON 1.7M, BUT THEY EVENTUALLY SELL FOR 1.6M.
SO WHAT'S THE DIFFERENCE? 1.5M1.6M.
SOMEBODY WHO IS IN NEED OF URGENT DEAL WILL CLOSE EYES AND SELL FOR 1.5M.
DONT MEAN TO DISRESPECT, BUT I HAVE OFFERS FOR 1.6M, I AM ONLY PUSHING A LITTLE BIT HARDER BEFORE I MAKE THE BUY.

DONT WORRY, IF BY CHANCE I GET A GOOD ONE FOR 1.5M, I'LL LET YOU KNOW.

ABOUT THE 2001/2002 HONDA: IT SELLS FOR 1.2M IN NIGERIA MARKET.

ALSO NOTE: MONEY ISNT THAT EASY TO COME BY, IF I AM SPENDING AS MUCH AS 1.5M, I THINK I SHOULD TAKE TIME TO GET A DESIRED QUALITY.
I KNOW PEOPLE GET MONEY THROUGH DIFFERENT MEANS, BUT MINE DOESNT COME THAT EASY.

@ Deluxek,

Although the 2003 - 2005 Accords are all referred to as EODs, there are differences between them. With your budget, you may wish to concentrate on the 03 model, though I think you need to add 200 to 300K to your initial budget to get what you want.

In my opinion, below are reasonable estimates for the EODs in clean condition, give or take a few thousand:

2003 - 1.8M
2004 - 1.9M
2005 - 2.0M

If you find something significantly cheaper, there may be a problem. In fact, if you find something much cheaper, send the VIN to me. I will run a report on it (limit 2).

@Deluxek, trust me if you see an accident car you wont know and it will surely beat your eyes. Thats why people always request for VIN.

u can get a non accidented 2003 dx for 1.6.Anything above that will be from 1.7-2.2m.Just got a 2005 eod and spent 8 months making researches online and combing all the auto markets in lagos.I eventually got a V6 with leather seats for 2m.If its cheap, there s a reason,Find out that reason before u buy.Good luck
Re: I Need A Clean Tokunbo Eod (2003-2005) Urgently For 1.5m by BizBooks(m): 2:55pm On Feb 23, 2010
As tush_bobo said:

u can get a non accidented 2003 dx for 1.6

But remember, the DX is the lowest quality in the Accord line. It has just the basic features, nothing more, nothing less. If I remember correctly, it doesn't even have power windows. You have to wind them manually.

I have missed oh.
I think people stealing cars to send to Nija to sell and come back and deal with insurance has made sales looks funny.
I would love to know where someone can buy EOD for 4000$$ Oh, cos i would buy some and like he said, the accidental ones for 2000$$, i bet the poster mean to say that, buy the engine alone.
An Average price of EOD as stated by Bizbook is just right and buyers needs to be careful of what they are buying.

With 1.6M Naira, you might be able to get:

1. 2003 Honda Accord - EOD with the following:
a. High Mileage
b. You wont be able to chose colors
c. The one that has been in accident before
d. SOmething that might not be automatic

Good luck and for more info and concerns: Femmmy.moto@gmail.com is the magical mail.

Lol . . .Even a base model is not too cheap.
It is Tax season in America and prices is not how it was . . . . . .NPA is charging 400$ on cars now and that has added to the price of the car too.
So we all just need to find a common ground.

Even if we manufacture these cars ourselves, it won't be that cheap. It will be nice for them to hear now

Chief, i get such everyday . . . .an example is someone that wanted a 2006 Corolla and his budget is 900K.

Hello Sir . . . . .I am too humble to wanna teach you.
I can only give you a quote of what i will sell you a reliable End of discussion ( 2003 - 2005 Honda Accord, as you have requested)

For a 2003 Honda Accord = 1.65M - High mileage > 160K, Auto and History not confirmed, cant be picky with the color.
Average price is 1.7M and above.
For a 2004 Honda Accord = 1.9M = Average mileage (90K - 120K Miles)
For a 2005 Honda Accord = 2.22M - Average mileage and good record.

Some of the things that affects prices are as follows:
1. Low mileage = More money
2. If you are specific about some particular color, you might have to pay extra.
3. If you want a car that has never been scratched before, then, be willing to pay.
4. If you want a car with some toys, then, shake body - alloy, moonroof and all that.

Good luck

Thanks for the message, but if a 2005 accord goes for 2.2million, then i will rather add little more to buy a hyundai tucson or 2009/2010 kia cerato.
I am sorry, i am not one of those who spend a fortune on used car.
if 1.6million isnt enough, then sellers can go for buyers who have millions to spend on tokunbo car, but i feel 1.6m is good for the mentioned cars.
I am sure people who deal in brand new cars dont make as much gain as the tokunbo sellers make.

anyway, instead of spending 2million on 2003-2005 accord,
i'll rather settle for a brand new car btw 2.2-3.0million range.
Thanks for all suggestions & contributions.

For a Nigerian used, that is not bad of a price . . . .
For a Tokunbo that the owner is desperate to get rid of it, for some personal or family reasons, not bad at all.
However, like i said somewhere above too, that the 1.6M might be possible with some conditions, and what you get at the Auction varies by day.
The buyer might be blessed to find something in his range, but that is not the norm.

If you can get something and not those boxes with engines taped to them, i mean real car, if you can get a real brand new car at that price you have mentioned, i will advice you jump at it.
Now the question is what is a new car.
Many Nigerians will tell you that a 2007 ride that was used by the manager in Auto shop in Nigeria, all cos it was yet to be registered is a brand new, or cod they have taped together the pure water wrapper around the seats, there are more to a brand new than that.
I have seen people telling me a car is brand new and yet has almost 20K miles on it.
I have seen few said a car is brand new and yet few months afterwards was at the shop.
So what is a brand new car to the buyer?

Most of the brand new cars in Nigeria shops are nothing but over prices boxes on wheels.
You cant put side by side any brand new car in Nigeria and from western world, cos even a little kid will be able to tell the difference.

So if a buyer can get a real good brand new car in Nigeria at such prices that the buyer has specified . . . .good deal.

My advice would be to follow your heart and mind . . . . .good luck
