THE Coalition of Niger Delta Agitators has said it will renew its attacks on oil installations in the Niger Delta on September 10 . It also stated that the notice to quit issued to Hausa and Yoruba in the Niger Delta had not been withdrawn . “Our intelligence department has given us the list of the oil wells owned by the northerners. The northerners have over 90 per cent of the oil wells and the Yoruba have about seven per cent, while the Igbo have about two per cent and the Niger Delta people do not have up to one per cent of the oil wells. “We are not talking only about the notice to quit ; we are also talking about the Niger Delta Republic . We have seen that the Federal Government is not serious about the Niger Delta issue . Let me make a point here ; the Academic Staff Union of Universities is on strike and the government has set up a committee to engage in a dialogue with ASUU . “This has never happened in the case of the Niger Delta ; the Federal Government has never inaugurated a committee to handle the Niger Delta issue . The only language the Federal Government seems to understand is violence. September 10 is the day we will resume attacks ( on oil installations ) . By September 10 , which is on Sunday, over 5 ,000 members of the Niger Delta Coalition of Agitators will shut down no less than over 20 platforms , ” the group told SUNDAY PUNCH on Saturday. Similarly , the coalition refuted the claim that it gave the Pan Niger Delta People ’s Congress the mandate to withdraw the notice . The CNDA had in August told northerners and Yoruba to leave before October 1 or be forced out of the region . The leader of the Niger Delta agitators , John Duku , added , “We have not given anybody any mandate to withdraw the notice to quit we issued. On the group ( PNDPC) talked about , we have said we are not working with this set of old people again . The composition of that group is not different from that of PANDEF . “Already , we are talking with leaders of ethnic nationalities and if at the end , we reach a conclusion , we will make it public . Nobody will withdraw the notice on our behalf – we will do that . The fact is that those that announced the withdrawal of the notice are not the ones that issued it. We don’t know them .” http://www.kgnosis.com/2017/09/attacks-on-oil-facilities-to-resume.html?m=1 |

Bunch of another clowns instead of using their useful exuberance to find ways of developing their region, they want to start spilling oil, later they will start crying for another oil spill clean up which will cost billions and also take years, Niger delta youths why? Asking hausa and yoruba to leave the region is senseless (even though arewa fools should take the blame for that). They should channel their efforts towards calling for restructuring rather than destroying their environment. If the oil companies pack up and leave today, Niger delta will mostly become ghost cities because they will have nothing else to rely on. wen will our youths get wiser? |

zionmade1:You seem to support unjust behavior of Nigeria government. The question is, what does it cost Nigeria government to engage the agitators? why do Nigeria govt wait to see the agitators spill oil before they move? Is it not a tacit endorsement of such violence? 9 Likes 2 Shares |

EmeeNaka:the government has gone into countless dialogues with those youths. I am against the way government is running this country there should be restructuring. But for the issue of niger delta, they are the ones depriving themselves of development.Go to NDDC headquarters for at least 1 week somehow u will understand that better |

zionmade1:I am also against the way government is running the affairs of Nigeria. Devolution of power and resource control is needed to give responsibility of development of state to people of the state and their leaders fully. Also, government has not done any of the agreement reached after each dialogue with the militant groups and that's the source of the whole problems. BTW, what happens in NDDC headquarters? 1 Like |

EmeeNaka:My brother the people they put there award contracts to their brothers and relations who end up embezzling the money and either do a substandard project or end up not doing anything at all. If all the projects that was paid for by NDDC was carried out in honesty a lot of development should have been noticed in the region |

Re: Attacks On Oil Facilities To Resume September 10 — Militants by EmeeNaka: 10:16am On Sep 03, 2017 |
zionmade1:Frankly,in the problem of Nigeria infrastructural development, Federal govt contribute about 42percent while the state and local govt contribute 58percent. The reason why everyone threatens Federal govt of mass actions/militancy is because Federal govt still continue to dabble into developmental projects that should be the works of state government and governors are happily embezzling money and shifting the blame to FG and when the FG is led by someone who is not from your tribe or state, the perception worsen to Marginalization with threat of violence or secession. The best way to bring peace to Nigeria is to handover the responsibility of development to States and local govt with consequent resource control. Nigeria security forces can not ensure genuine peace. NDDC and governors, especially Niger Delta governors, both past and present, are the most corrupt elements afflicting the development of Niger Delta States. |

Stingman:I am anti Nigerian politics from buhari to GEJ to Obasanjo and the rest. Yaradua was the only person that looked like a leader to me. So I don't really care Wat failure the past government had, our responsibility in this country is to call upon the present leaders to deliver their mandate and not referring to the past all the time |
