Leave that evil pathfinder, go with Honda Pilot but avoid the VCM models for now, the VCM system wasn't fully mastered in these generation of pilot.

Pathy all the way!

Hope when the nasty radiator mixes the coolant with ATF and locks up his transmission you'd give him 750k unconditionally?
Hope when the useless fragile timing chains guides breaks and start clattering sounds and other timing related issues or when the CAM shaft systems get offended you'd be there to offer him money plus fix it?

Having owned a D40 Navara previously I was aware of what I was getting in to before I bought this, so all of the potential problems have now been sorted before they can cause any trouble. The absolute necessity is to get the timing chain replaced with a special duplex one, then remap the ECU and fit uprated front brake pads. You also need to keep a close eye on the chassis for signs of rust and treat accordingly. But now I have a fantastic vehicle that should last many years. The handling is quite reasonable for a vehicle of this size, the comfort and level of trim is excellent, the cargo/children space is nearly unsurpassed and the grip in muddy or mild off-road conditions is impressive. The remap improves the engine response and it's quite capable of 45mpg if you really try hard, although I usually get more like 36. About the only thing I don't like about it is the size of the rear passenger doors, as it makes access in some car parks very tight. I'd recommend to a friend, but with the advice to get one of the newer versions (>2010, Euro 5) and upgrade the necessary weak Nissan parts as soon as you can. Oh, and it has one of the best car forums around, so if you're in the mood to tackle maintenance and repairs yourself there's nearly unlimited help available.

But the most reliable of the lot, the least problematic and the one with the highest resale value.
This is followed by the Honda Pilot.

Back to the pathfinder, don't allow anyone to coerce you into buying that pile of lemon, you do, when the torments starts coming in its torrents, your bear the brunt alone and those who coerced you may only say 'sorry'. I've given enough advice sha.
