Project officer job description

1. Field work

Visit assigned schools

Liaise with ICT teachers, head teacher, etc for access to classroom

Supervise problems with installation and use of scratch program on windows systems (laptop, desktop)

Supervise use of excel spreadsheet for recording attendance records for students and teachers

Learn about installation and use of scratch and python programs for windows systems

Take pictures and videos of coding classes in schools

Access and assess readiness of schools and facilities to participate in project

Utilise public transport system to regularly visit project sites

2. Reporting

Create and verify reports in MS Excel

Create and verify reports in MS Word

Create and participate in online chat rooms using whatsapp for reporting

Create and utilize checklists to ensure project objectives are fulfilled

Participate in online and face to face reporting on project activities

Make online and face to face presentations using MS Powerpoint

Ability to report on technical and financial activities

3. Qualifications and Skills

Graduate/OND/HND of relevant field

Proficient in use of MS Office – Powerpoint, Excel, Word

Proficient in use of computer systems

Proficient in troubleshooting on common installation problems with computer systems

Ability to learn quickly

Problem solving skills

Ability to work with diverse project teams

Good written and spoken English

Male or female

Not more than 30 years old

4. Meetings/presentations/communications

Ability to communicate effectively using face to face presentations

Ability to effectively communicate project status to internal and external stakeholders

Must be able to look corporate when required

Ability to communicate effectively using phone communications

Ability to communicate effectively using whatsapp and chat communications

Ability to communicate effectively using email communications

5. Execution/supervision

Monitor and supervise multiple project teams remotely

Plan time to ensure project sites are visited regularly according to project plan

Ability to work with minimal supervision

Monitor and supervise execution of simple civil construction/repair artisans like bricklayers, carpenters, plumbers and electricians at project site to ensure objectives are achieved

Monitor and supervise execution of simple supply jobs to ensure project quality, budget and time objectives are met

6. Correspondence

Create and disseminate simple correspondences like letters and emails effectively

Marketing

Identify new opportunities in line with the project

Market and capture identified opportunities in line with project objectives using various channels like telephone, email, chats, text messages, letters, face to face meetings, etc

Transportation

Able to use public transport effectively

Good knowledge of Lagos, especially Yaba, Ikeja, Lekki, V.I., Ikoyi, Apapa, Mushin, Papa Ajao, Makoko, Surulere, Iganmu, Coker,Isolo, Agege

7. Computer skills

Proficient in use of Excel, Word, Powerpoint

Proficient in use of email

Proficient in use of internet and internet browsers

Proficient in use of chat like whatsapp

Possesses smart phone and proficient in use of smartphone
