ISIS otherwise known as the Islamic State has claimed responsibility for the bomb blast that occured at the Parsons Green Tube station in London yesterday. The terrorist group’s news agency (Amaq) reported this on Friday evening.

The attack has prompted the Authorities in London to raise the threat level in Britain from severe to critical as the hunt for bomber continues. The bomber had timed his nefarious act to coincide with the rush-hour tube train packed with school children and other commuters.

CCTV images captured the bomber as he boarded the train with the weapon packed in a white plastic bucket inside a Lidl supermarket bag. The train is also believed to have had on-board CCTV and all of that is being presently studied by the Police Department.

In the incidence itself, reports have it that twenty-nine people including a young boy were injured by the blast. Luckily, nobody suffered any form of life-threatening injuries in the incident.

The British Prime Minister, Theresa May immediately addressed the nation on Friday evening to commiserate with the injured and affected citizens. She went on to say said the UK terror threat level was being raised to its highest rating and that armed police and members of the military would be seen on the streets in the coming days.

The PM not only described the attack as cowardly but also had this to say,

“For this period, military personnel will replace police officers on guard duties at certain protected sites that are not accessible to the public,” she said.

“The public will see more armed police on the transport network and on our streets, providing extra protection. This is a proportionate and sensible step which will provide extra reassurance and protection while the investigation progresses.”
