The University Of Uyo, Uyo in AkwaIbom State has announced the postponement of the 2017/2018 resumption date which was slated for 18th September, 2017.

According to the Registrar, Mr AniediAbasi Udofia, the postponement is due to the ongoing nationwide strike embarked upon by members of the Joint Action Committee (JAC) of non teaching staff of Nigerian Universities.

The bodies making up the Joint Action Committee are the Non Academic Staff Union (NASU), the Senior Staff Association Of Nigerian Universities (SSANU) and the National Association Of Academic Technologist (NAAT) and these three bodies are currently on a nationwide strike.

The Registrar of the citadel of Intellectual Learning while briefing newsmen said that the school will communicate to the general public when the actual resumption will be.

The students are advised to use this opportunity to prepare adequatelyfor the next semester whenever that may come up. Gathering materials that may be used for the next semester is also of importance.
