Biafra: What Senate Will Do About Military Action On Nnamdi Kanu, IPOB – Saraki by MrRationaL(m): 2:27pm On Sep 17, 2017
President of the Senate, Dr Bukola Saraki, said the Senate would soon meet with security chiefs over military action against members of the Indigenous People of Biafra, IPOB, and their leader, Nnamdi Kanu.

He said the meeting would chart a path for resolution of contentious issues causing tension in the South-East and also address the skirmishes in Plateau and other states.

This is as the Nigerian Army declared that its ongoing operation in the region will continue.

Saraki in a statement on Sunday in Abuja said that security agencies, political and religious leaders must work for the promotion of dialogue as means for tackling agitations, to ensure peace in the country.

The statement signed by his Special Adviser on Media and Publicity, Yusuph Olaniyonu, urged all Nigerians to maintain peace and avoid statements or actions capable of aggravating the tension in parts of the country.

Saraki said that the crises in the country were not unconnected to the economic challenges being faced by citizens.

“The tension in some parts of the country has its roots substantially in the economic situation.

“The nation should be assured that some of the legislative and executive actions taken to address the economic problems are beginning to yield fruits.
“This is why we recently witnessed the rebound of the economy and the exit of the country from recession,” he said.

He called for calm among the people, especially in the South-East and Plateau, saying that the government required the cooperation of everyone in solving all problems.

“I want to appeal to our people to avoid stoking ethnic or religious fires. We should not deepen the fault lines of our nation and place citizens in danger of violence and sustained crises.

“The government requires the support of all Nigerians and we should please give peace a chance. No real development or genuine economic activity can take place in the midst of crisis or tension.

“Investments and development thrive only where there is peace,” Saraki said.

He advised political, community and religious leaders to take actions that would douse the tension and reassure the people that the best way was for us to live together in peace and harmony.

“All leaders at this point must canvass support for government and preach peace, love and harmony.
“Once again, I plead with our people to avoid taking laws into their hands or antagonizing our neighbours,” Saraki added.

COPIED:
Facts that will shock you about IPOB-NA Crisis.

1.The proscription of IPOB and its declaration as a Terrorist Organisation ,by the Defence Headquarters and South East Governors Forum, is illegal ,as only a Federal High Court Judge, on an Application by the Attorney General of Federation can do so ,according to the Anti-Terrorism Act.

2.The keeping of Peace and maintenance of Law and Order, is the primary responsibility of the Police ,you don't unleash the Military on the Civilian Populace ,when the is no armed insurrection :Buhari v .Yarudua ,as per the Supreme Court .

3.According to the Global Terrorism Index (GTI),IPOB is not listed as a Terrorist Organisation ,but the Fulani Herdsmen are listed as the 4th Deadliest Terrorist Organization in the World,it has not been declared as a Terrorist Organisation by the Nigerian Populace!

4.The International Best Practices in Military Engagement ,is the use of Water Cannons ,Rubbers Bullets and Cannisters to disperse an unruly unarmed crowd and not live bullets.

5. Also ,the Nigerian Army , Rules of Engagement as it pertains to the Civil Populace, provides for the Use of Proportionate Force !

6.The current killings of unarmed Igbos by the Nigerian Army is tending towards Crime Against Humanity ,a Crime triable at the International Criminal Court ,at the Hague ,Netherlands!

7. The Same South East Governors that purportedly proscribed IPOB , had a scheduled meeting with Nnamdi Kanu the IPOB Leader, on the Friday the 15th of September, 2017 and Nnamdi Kanu ,called it off, citing security concerns and the Governors ,never condemned the unprovoked killings of their people !

8. The Court that is empowered by law to so declare or tag any organization as terrorist, in March 2017 declared Ipob a lawful organization, as the newspaper below shows:

U don't need to beat about the bush saraki. All u are saying is for ur political ambition. Nigerian army have declared kanu unfit for our society and so shall it be. Any ambition on the part of that coward will be met with hostility. Kanu is a parasite, he just want to feed on his gullible followers. That's all.

Soldiers are not only very disciplined but calm. They can only react if you want to prove stubborn. Typically, some Nigerians are very stubborn. They would prefer to do that negative thing you ask them not to do. It is often said, "park well", "keep moving", "don't litter", "reduce speed limit". Some Nigerians hardly obey all these warnings.
Now, juxtaposed that premise with the punishment received by some youths in Abia and tell me what you may likely get. Those youths may have displayed their youthful rascality that provoked the Army for them to have punished them. Soldiers won't just see you and start punishing you. How on earth would a citizen publicly call his own President a " cow", Animal". That's derogatory! And that should ordinarily elicit punishment let alone violently leading Nigerians to disintegration. That's condemnable.
When those yearning for Biafra thinks right, behaves well, coordinates themselves well, Army won't have any reason to punish them.
