This is simply a fallacy called Post ergo proper hoc" (Latin: "afterthis, therefore because of this" is a logical fallacy that states "Since event Y followed event X, event Y must have been caused by event X."

X occurred, then Y occurred.
Therefore, X caused Y.

that the madness happened (Y) after she had sex with a rich man (X) doesn't mean her having sex caused it
