It is a tragedy that at this time in the history of the fight for Biafran Independence, propaganda, whitewashing, cheap bravado and showmanship seems to be the ethos of our cause. Let us no longer quake or doubt the rising of this sun, as our determination as a people to discard the yoke of servitude and bask in the euphoria of Uhuru is the most needed push.

History is on our side, Constructive criticism and objective reasoning are the hallmarks of the fight for liberty and we at the BNYL will not stand by, and idly so, while things go wrong. It will amount to a dereliction of duty.

Varying questions are today associated with the Biafran struggle, they range from the issues of Referendum to the controversies surrounding its achievement, which includes political process, civil disobedience and election boycott. Yet we believe that this can better be achieved in a congress, which has the true facets of all Biafran cultures, regions, creeds and affiliations represented.

In pursuance of the above stated, the BNYL, will be organizing a special gathering: 'CONGRESS DILEMMA ON REFERENDUM'. This will articulate views and ensure unity of voice and singleness of purpose. Issues, as they concern the struggle, will be the hub and nub of the Congress.

Naturally, giant strides such as this, require enormous financial and logistics support. In lieu of this, we humbly, on behalf of the BNYL, appeal to all Biafrans to assist in ways they can to make this congress a successful one, as it will usher us into the Biafra of our tomorrow.

Be of good cheer, our struggle for Biafran Independence and the walk to freedom may be long and gloomy. Yet behind these clouds of propaganda and whitewashing loom the rays of hope and Uhuru. Let posterity be the judge.
