After seeing the progress of many unplanned Collabos and planned ones, I think we can make it work by just having a genre. Then seeing the way the Romance Collabo is going, I've decided to open Threads for other genres.

But just know the Genre is Horror.
Explore any method of writing. It's firstly for our fun then our creativity. Excite the next writer, make it as slow or as fast as you want. But remember it is Horror.
Don't bother if you're not as good as others think you are, just drop the thing.

Gregory Davis jumped with a start and scampered out of his seat. On a normal day, he wouldn't be afraid. But his fear had suddenly aggravated because Bisi, his girlfriend had complained about something touching her.
When she told him, he hissed and joked that she was getting scared because they were watching horror film. And they had argued about it before she stormed into room, embittered that he was taking her for granted.
So when the thing touched him. He ran to switch and turned it on. Sitting on the floor was Bisi, whose face was streaming with tears because she had been trying hard not to laugh. When the light came on, she burst into laughter and rolled.
' So...My baby can be afraid.. You, Greg...'
She burst into laughter again. Gregory wanted to agree with her, but what touched him was hairy and had spike sort of. He looked around. Maybe she was the one actually. He blinked, gave her a wary smile and returned to watch ' Wrong Turn'.

Though he went back to seeing the movie, he still had second thoughts, SOMETHING WAS DEFINITELY IN THE SITTING ROOM WITH THEM but he had to be the man for the sake of the both of them. Suddenly in the movie, just as the cannibals were dragging one of the characters to the cabin to chop into pieces, the light flickered, thrice, then there was a power outage.
Then he felt it; a hot breath which sent shivers down his spine causing the hairs on his neck to stand on end.
'Baby' Bisi called out to him in the dark. Then she screamed. It was loud, blood curling, piercing and broke the silence of the night, the adrenaline kicked in, he quickly turned and found himself staring into two glowing yellow balls...

The eyes glowed like all power from hell condensed to a point in those spherical orange mass. An yellow-orange that shifted and flickered.

His bladder let go and dark map spread down his trousers. They say when an animal x frightened, it flees or fight but what he saw in his vision was too implausible to believe and yet there, too farcical and yet terrifying, He stood rooted to the spot.

He felt the soggy wetness of his trousers, his girls heavy breathing and terrified eyes swollen to a frog's ...
Yet he couldn't move. Those orange eyes....

Panic was a rat gnawing away at his rational mind. A small part of him still egged him to flee for help or fight off the monstrosity. but his legs had become wooden stumps, 3 miles away from his brain.

Shi.t, his girl was basically pleading with those terrified eyes but he was too weak to even scream.
The girlz fear was palpable, he suddenly knew that She was going to die. That they will die and probably painfully. But will they stay dead after? That is the worst of it .



A strong aroma baked off the apparition. A smell like burning sulphur and cow dung and thousands of dead fowls after the rain.

That strong smell reminded him of one of the programs he once saw on the tube by one of the so called ghost buster gurus. OMG!!! This must be a creature from hell. He thought to himself.

'Is this how I die?' He asked himself. He had once imagined that his death would be more peaceful; something like dying in his sleep.
Suddenly, whatever the creature was, lunged at him; just suddenly too, his brain became functional sending quick 'flight' signals to his limbs and of their own accord, his lower limbs moved out of harm's way towards where his girlfriend stood frozen. He grabbed her arm pulling her after him with a sense of urgency he never knew he had; towards the bedroom they ran, his suddenly hyperactive brain calculating a means of escape. 'We have to survive this, we definitely have to survive this' he kept reminding his brain albeit unconsciously...

As they ran, he searched his memory for something...Anything at all that could be useful for defense purpose. Suddenly again his brain lit up. He remembered that his mother came visiting the week before and in her typical way, she brought blessed water, popularly called 'holy water'. He quickened his pace, his girlfriend still held firmly in his hand, in the background came the sound of the creature in hot pursuit, getting closer at each passing moment...
As they got to the threshold of the bedroom door, they leapt across, quickly banging the door and turning the lock but he knew in his heart of hearts that it was just a futile attempt to keep the creature out. Looking around the room frantically, his eyes rested on the 5litre can containing the precious blessed water, quickly, he ran towards it...

He grabbed it furiously.
Swiftly turned, too slow for the yellow eyes. He should have been faster. Hell no he wasnt.

The creature's arm pierced the door with a loud bang. Like a loyal slave doing its master's bidding, it stretched across the room and held unto his girlfriend.

It yanked her backwards, the creature gave out a rewarding shriek sound at its attempt. Milliseconds ago she was standing next to him. Now her feet were suspended in mid air, dangling and shuddering. Her back against the door.



She screamed with an urgent and deadly siren voice, he was sure he had never heard such from her ' hArrrggghhh!!! Harrrggghh!!!

He almost joined her, he wished he could but the words overwhelmed him in real time. Everything happened almost rapidly, scary.

'Jesus!!! Came his voice, confused, afraid.

Greg , quickly, impulsively unscrewed the bottle's cap. He had no time to think as his entire being employed him with one voice ' Do something. Be fast'

...And something he did. He sprinkled a generous amount of the holy liquid on to the protruding arm of the creature holding up his girlfriend, Bisi and was rewarded with a pained horrible screech. Bisi was released and she landed ungracefully in a heap on the floor. For the first time since that evening, there was a glimmer of hope. Greg pulled Bisi to her feet with one hand, poured some more of the holy water on the threshold, then together with Bisi ran to the end of the room out of harm's way...

"Quick Bisi, jump out" He said as he pushed her towards the window. They were on the second floor, but a few broken ribs was better than the monstrosity that was behind them.. he hoisted her over the frame and jumped after her. They landed with a dull thud.
"Shit" He knew they were in for it when he saw that they had landed in the same room they had jumped from....

Chidi rubbed his eyes sleepily as he eased himself. His sleep had been interrupted by an eerie scream from next door.

"You people should wake the entire building you hear?" He grumbled as he made to return to his bedroom when he head something hit the floor hard. His curiosity got the better of him and he proceeded into the hallway. He stopped in front of Greg's door and raised his hand to knock but something stopped him. As he made to turn back to his room, the door opened slowly and a voice said

"come in"....

I'm so loving this...

...And he obliged. As he stepped across the threshold, walked a little into the sitting room.

"Greg, this one your house dark like this, you never pay NEPA bill?" He asked with a little chuckle but was greeted with a silence so thick it could be cut with a knife.
"O boy where you dey? You and your babe won collapse the building abi?" He asked again with another chuckle. Imagining the type of pounding which Greg must have been giving his woman to cause such a ruckus. As he walked more into the house, feeling his way on the wall towards the bedroom, he suddenly heard the door close behind him with an audible click.

"This craze man so you dey my back since na him you no won talk. Una don use una noise wake me" he said with yet another chuckle, then began feeling his way back to the door. As he was close to door, he stumbled and fell forward unto something bony and rough. Feeling with his hands, he touched whatever that was; he was shocked to feel scales and some kind of spiny material attached to what seemed like a shriveled skin.

His heart began beating fast, he then felt that something wasn't right. Slowly, he got to his feet, began feeling his pockets for his Nokia torchlight phone, his fingers came.in contact with the phone which he them brought out from his pocket, switched on the light and pointed straight ahead. He found himself staring directly into something; something he couldn't fathom, something his brain couldn't process immediately. He found himself staring into...

...a nightwalker! He heard about them years ago from one of his aunt's numerous stories. The creature have a human shape with black hairy skin and a trial of white. It have a webbed spikes on top of it two heads;a human and bull head. It eyes glow fire and a thick,orange colored liquid drip from it large mouths which are unevenly decorated by sharp teeth. Their limbs are long and skinny with three fingers on each of their four hands. He stood freeze. Tendrils of terror curled into stomach. He wanted to run out of the room and shout to wake the whole building but couldn't;he have lost his ability to talk and move. He gave up on living and shut his eyes tightly,waiting for the creature to tear him apart. A hand grabbed him from behind and pulled him;it was Greg! Thank goodness!

Greg firmly shut the door after pulling Chidi inside his room. The room was sort of a safe haven. Once inside, they can't leave and the creature can't get in- that was what he concluded.

His girl was sitting on the floor close to the window muttering to herself. Her hands were wrapped around her knees which she squeezed to her chest. Concerned, Greg walked up to Bisi and sat beside her.

"What is going on here, Greg?" Chidi demanded.
Greg looked at him, opened his mouth to speak and then shut it immediately.

"Guy, talk to me na, that thing outside... "

Chidi was cut off by a bang from the sitting room. Something or somebody had either come in or gone out.

"Hello, who dey this house?" a familiar voice asked. "Make una come out, that thing don run away. Our men dey chase am."

Greg realised who was speaking. Ola was the leader of the neighbourhood's vigilante group. He had always prided in the efficacy of his traditional 'jazz' which he claimed came from the highest shrine in his hometown.

Warily, he watched Chidi who appeared relieved move to the door to go out.

"No!" Bisi yelled. "It could be a trap. Please do not leave."

Chidi totally ignored her, unlocked the door and stepped out.

....Plcok! Was the sound Chidi's head made when it hit the floor. Streams of blood jetted out of his open neck as the body fell back into the room breaking the puddle of blessed water which Greg had earlier made, The creature laughed a very odd, horrible, mirthless laugh; A laugh which sounded like a hundred broken records from hell, a laugh which sounded like old sandpapers scraping one another, a laugh which could raise the B.P of a person, a horrible sound which could cause a child to convulse, that horrible sound scrambled Greg's brain's ability to send wholesome signals and his body's ability to receive and act on the signals given in the right way; he felt a warm liquid gathering in his pants, he realized too late, his sphincter had failed him yet again. He had peed himself for the second time that night...

For a few seconds, everywhere went deathly silent. Then, Bisi let out a piercing shriek and her body began to vibrate. Sensing that she could lose consciousness, Greg hugged her tightly from the side.
"Baby... Stay with me, please, " he begged as a single tear rolled down his right cheek.

Moonlight cast a glow on Chidi's pool of blood which slowly muddled the barrier line of holy water.

Greg's mind went into overdrive, parsing information in milliseconds. Instinctively, he stood up, recollected the jar of holy water and made another line from door post to door post away from Chidi's headless body which lay across the open doorway.

He turned to Bisi and asked, "Babe, do you have your phone with you? I left mine at the sitting room."

Bisi stared blankly at him for a while, shook her head and pointed where the body lay.

Greg looked back and saw Chidi's Nokia phone. The torchlight was on but it was outside his old and new barrier line.

As he made to go over and pick it up, Bisi began to sob. He paused immediately and chided himself.

What was he thinking?

Greg felt like going over to comfort her. He was seriously worried about her. She had been unable to utter a single word after she saw Chidi's headless body.

He moved into the adjoining bathroom, picked up a mop and came out. Carefully, he began drawing the phone close and then it happened.

In a blur, Chidi's headless body seized the mop, sprang up and dragged it forcefully. Greg went flying towards it but his left hand caught the door handle. The zombie got hold of Greg around his right elbow and was about to drag him out when Bisi charged.

Yeeeepa, i yaff die oooo, chidi leave greg alone ooo. U guys re just da best jare. Pls kip it up

She jumped up and grab the zombie,knocking it down;they fell with a thud on the floor. Greg jerked up immediately and made for the mop. He picked it up and violently lashed it at headless zombie. Bisi ran and picked the jar of holy water and poured a good amount of it on the zombie. It made a sharp,heart piercing noise as it dance around like a rat dropped inside a pan of hot oil. It continued dancing around,knocking down things in the process then collapsed on the floor. Greg took the Nokia torch from the floor,collected the jar of holy water from Bisi and made another line.
"Thank you baby." Greg said hugging Bisi,his back to the door. She nodded and sniffed.
Bisi yelled frightfully,forcing Greg to break away from the hug. He turned back sharply to what made her yell. He moved back when he saw it. No,them. The zombie has woken and has multiplied into three zombies.

Jesus!!!

...3zombies!!! . OMG!!! just one is hard to kill talk less of three! He thought in horror. "God please forgive me all my trespasses as I forgive those who trespass against me. Please save us." He prayed frantically. He and his girl went back to the far end of the room their hearts beating so loudly and furiously that it could be heard from miles away.
Suddenly the head on the floor, which was still facing their direction by the way did something that no scientifical theory could explain, something that could only happen in the movies; the eyes opened, lifeless whites against the reflection of the torchlight phone's light; the mouth began to move "you belong to us" the head said in a voice which sounded like it had been unused for ages. "Come to us now..."

'noooooooooooooooooooooooo" i screamed

Bisi let out a loud pain filled cry like a child who have just received the news of his mother's death. She collapsed on the floor and folded herself,scratching the Brazilian hair that was just fixed few days ago. Greg stroad to where she was,scooted beside her and held her by the shoulder,shaking her faintly.

"This is not the time to cry baby. Get hold of yourself please."

She squinted and eyed him. He raised his left eyebrow in the what the? Manner. This babe is not serious ooo,she want to form angry in this condition abi? They heard footsteps and quickly stood up,looking towards the door. Someone is coming! The zombies went and hide behind the door in the sitting room. They saw someone's shadow walking towards the room. It may be dangerous for the person but they need help. The figure appeared on the door and it turns out to be Baba Jegede,Greg's next door neighbor.

"Thank God,help is finally here." Bisi said happily.

"Help ke? Who will help you people? Did you forget how you disgraced me in front of everybody because I touched you behind and your mumu boyfriend even supported you? Wait sef,why do you need my help?" Baba Jegede asked entering the room.

Greg tried to save him but it was late already. The door snapped shut behind him. He turned sharply and saw them,all three of them behind him.

"Sango oooo" Baba Jegede shouted. He quickly brought out a small paper folded in his pocket and blew a white substance at the three creatures. It worked like acid and the creatures began to melt gradually. The result was so revolting that Bisi could not hold her dinner in and she threw up all over the place.

"Baba, how did you do that?" Greg asked, his eyes never leaving the messy goo on the floor

"Forget that thing, you be small boy" Baba Jegede said boastfully. "When we started doing traditional medicine you were still sucking your mother's boobs. It is not all these bible you are carrying....what's that?" He asked as smoke began to fill the room..

Pluck, pluck, pum pum....

"Greg oo, what is that noise? It sounds like something is boiling" Bisi wailed

pluck, pluck, pum, pum, siiiiiiiiiiiiiii. As if on cue, they all turned to where the three creatures had melted. The boiling noises and smoke was coming from there but what was more horifying was the goo was morphing into something bigger.....

Baba Jegede started to mumble. Greg strained his ears to catch the words, but he could not understand anything. As his voice began to rise, Greg knew he was making some form of incantation.

"THIS IS NOT YOUR FIGHT" the creature growled with a guttural voice in Baba Jegede's direction. suddenly, it began to whistle. The trio stood transfixed for a minute, seemly hypnotised by the sweet melody from the monster.

Let's see how things go. I don't fancy the traditional part being introduced though.
