STUDIES OVER THE WORLD ON ENDOMETRIOSIS OR FIBROID HAVE SHOWN THAT FIBROID IS ONE CAUSE OF SEVERE MENSTRUAL PAIN, BUT THE PAIN ALSO CAN BE CAUSED BY ENDOMETRIOSIS: THIS OCCURS WHEN TISSUE FROM THE INNER LINING OF THE UTERUS GROWS IN OTHER PARTS OF THE BODY. ILLUSTRATED HERE BY GROWTH ON THE OUTSIDE OF THE UTERUS AND BLADDER, THIS TISSUE BREAKS DOWN AND BLEEDS DURING PERIODS CAUSING PAINFUL SCAR TISSUE. • WHAT CAUSES FIBROID: The exact cause of fibroid is unknown. Their growth has been linked to the female’s hormones estrogen and progesterone; studies found that women who start their periods at a younger age are more likely to develop fibroid. Though taking female hormones is linked to fibroid, the use of birth control pills is not.

•WHO GETS FIBROID S: Registered hospital and well known nursing care homes in the world have their research and development on this, which remains unclear why woman develop fibroid, some pattern have been observed . They usually occur between the ages of 30 – 40 years.

 They are more common in black woman.
 They grow more quickly and appear at a younger age in black woman
 Having a family member with fibroid increase a woman risk.
 Being overweight or obese and having high blood pressure also may increase your risk.

•TYPES OF FIBROID S: I. Intramural fibroid – This grow in the wall of the uterus.
II. Subserosal fibroid - This grows on the outside of the uterus as they grow larger, they can cause pain due to their size or pressure put on nearby organs.
III. Submucosal fibroid – This grows just underneath the uterine lining and can also crowd into the uterus cavity and lead to heavy bleeding and more serious complications.
IV. Predunculated fibroid – IT grows on small stalks inside or outside the uterus.

SYMPTOMS OF FIBROID[color=#006600][/color]

Fibroid may cause very mild symptoms none at all or symptom can be severe in woman who does feel symptoms, this uterine growth can cause:
1. Pressure on the bladder/rectum
2. Frequent urination.
3. Constipation/rectal pain
4. Lower back/abdominal pain.
5. Period changes: fibroid can also change a woman’s period, including( I) Mild to severe cramping and pain.( II) Heavier bleeding, sometimes with blood clots.( III) Longer or more frequent menstruation. (IV) Spotting or bleeding in-between periods.

COMPLICATIONS: Getting pregnant, fibroid usually do not interfere with fertility and pregnancy. However, some woman with fibroid experience more pregnancy complication and delivery risk. Fibroid may cause the baby to be in an ab-nominal position and can cause preterm labor. They also cause pelvic pain and heavy bleeding after delivery, which may require surgery in some instances and if fibroid becomes very large, they can distend the stomach making a woman look pregnant; it may block the Fallopian tubes. Fibroid growing along the inner uterine wall may make it difficult for a fertilized egg to attach.
