Founder of the Igbo Youth Movement(IYM), Evangelist Elliot Ugochukwu-Uko has revealed that the leader of the Indigenous people of Biafra(IPOB), Nnamdi Kanu had agreed that Nigeria must be restructured shortly before the Nigerian army invaded his home in Abia.

PoliticsNGR gathered that Uko, who was present at the meeting between the South-east governors and Kanu in Enugu state on August 30, 2017, said that Prof. Ben Nwabueze had successfully convinced Kanu to shift ground on Secession.

Uko, who is also the Deputy Secretary of Igbo Leaders of Thought(ILT) told Sun;

"The August 30, 2017, meeting between Kanu and South East governor was historic, in the sense that Nwabueze made Kanu to adjust his position in a landmark development.

Because of Kanu’s respect for Nwabueze, he accepted in principle, Nwabueze’s proposal for restructuring of Nigeria and stepped down the agitation for secession. But, the restructuring should be a return to the 1963 Constitution format.

Kanu, in reverence to Nwabueze, agreed in principle to the proposal, but insisted on discussing with and carrying along the entire leadership of IPOB, both at home and in Diaspora."

Uko further disclosed that it was agreed at the meeting that IPOB would not disrupt elections, including the November 18, 2017, Anambra governorship election.

"The meeting also agreed to meet again within days, to finetune and conclude the agreements. But, most importantly, Kanu accepted Prof. Nwabueze’s suggestions that IPOB demands are not absolute, which meant that the group would have to shift ground in subsequent meetings.

Kanu was cautious not to take solo decisions without carrying his group along and promised to bring the group’s leaders to the next meeting.

It is, therefore, my considered opinion that those behind the military invasion and attacks, were averse to a peaceful resolution of the loss of confidence in Nigeria by millions of Eastern youths and have chosen to sustain the status quo through force."

The military invasion is one of the dumbest move made by this govt despite pending court case against Nnamdi Kanu, obviously they were afraid of something.

The invasion have not removed the burning issues from the heart of the people.

Nnamdi KANU once agreed to slow down agitations if holistic restructuring is done before November 18 elections in Anambra state,at this stage a reasonable govt should have called for dialogue but because those is power are dictators and lack democratic values they resorted to violence.

The Biafra issues are legitimate to the extent that It will continue to give the Nigeria govt sleepless nights until a Democratic approach is made.

Till then Biafra Lives on

Why do you think President Muhammadu Buhari’s administration is afraid of Kanu and Indigenous People of Biafra?

It has nothing to do with fear. In the corridor of power, it is generally believed that the unity of Nigeria is not negotiable. Therefore, anyone who threatens the unity of Nigeria has to be crushed or jailed. That was what led President Olusegun Obasanjo to charge Mujahid Asari Dokubo, Dr. Fredrick Faseun, Otunba Gani Adams, and Ralph Uwazurike and put them away in Kuje prison. (Former) President (Umaru) Yar’Adua charged Henry Okah with treason and detained him. President Jonathan charged Charles Okah with terrorism and put him away in Kuje prison. The regime ensured that his brother, Henry was jailed in South Africa for threatening the corporate existence of Nigeria.

...now receive commonsense to reason like a normal being and not like one already used for political rituals. Amen!

The Mandela they are comparing Nnamumu to NEVER accepted less from the colonial government. He preferred 27 years to bolting away like Ojukwu and Kanu.

The problem with most Igbo leaders is that most of them never think things through before action. They lead their followers to the slaughter and run away at last.

If not for the fact that Biafran e-warlords are not morally principled, they would have stopped defending Kanu. Who on earth hangs his followers out to dry?

It still surprises me how people can be collectively gullible.
