*Topic:* THE KINGS HORSE
*Read:* 1 Kings 19:4-21

*MEMORISE:* _Be kindly affectionate to one another with brotherly love, in honor giving preference to one another._ *(Romans 12:10)*

*EXPOSITION*
Whenever the king rode on His favourite horse to anywhere, especially when he passed through the market square, people will do obeisance to the king and each time this happened, the horse usually believed that he was so important as the king and that, that is why people paid homage whenever the king rode on it. It got it all wrong, as it also believed in its peculiarity among all other horses the king owned, this was witnessed in the way he bragged among its colleagues. One day, the horse decided to go on its own accord to the market square. To its surprise, nobody noticed it, not to talk of paying any homage. Elijah the man of God believed he had been zealous for God, he thought he was the only one that was standing for God. He felt so special, just like we usually do, especially when God has graciously released some gift for us. Often, we feel useful, special, too important and indispensable like the kings horse. Such an assessment is blinded by selfishness, arrogance and pride. None of us can be indispensable to God. There is no super-hero with God. We are alike before Him. He has no favourite. The bible wants you to treat others with honour and dignity, even prefer them to yourself. That is the secret of lasting long in God's hand. When he notices an iota of pride in you, He does away with you because you are not better than a cancer at that moment. Let this mind be in you, that, with or without you, the world moves on. Peradventure, this will instil cool-headedness, humility (humbleness), respect for others, and reference for God, in most of us. Remember, there is always somebody who is better than you.

*PRAYER POINTS*
*1.* Deliver me, oh Lord, from the spirit of arrogance and self-centredness.
*2.* Help our leaders to know that it is by Your grace that oh Lord, they are relevant and usable, and decorate them with the spirit of grace and humbleness.
*3.* Lord Jesus, help the Church not to derail from her primary assignment - glorifying God.
