Who Signed The 1914 Amalgamation? by dtruth50: 9:02pm On Oct 03, 2017
Shocking Question..
Who signed the 1914
Amalgamation?

Nnamdi Azikiwe was born in 1904(was 10years old when the
1914 treaty was signed)

Obafemi Awolowo was born in
1909(was 5years old when the
1914 treaty was signed)

Abubakar Tafawa Balewa was born
in 1912(was 2years old before it
was signed)

Ahmadu Bello was born in
1910(was 4years old before it was
signed)

Michael Okpara was born in
1920(the treaty has been signed
6years before he was born)

Who and who signed these papers
on 1914 and called it
amalgamation of the Northern
Region and Southern Region, that
we shall live together as one family
without War, Marginalization,
Conflict of interest and crisis?

These Nationalists I mentioned
above are still sucking breast at the
time of this agreement.
You can't mix Red Oil and Palm
kernel Oil together to get a good
result.

You can't play Jazz and Etigi or
skelewu in the club house at the
same time and expect a good
dance.

Is it that we are learning how to
spell Democracy in our country or
the teacher does not know how to
teach?

Our problems started in 1914
because we don't know who
signed it and there names and
there intentions for signing it.
If they so called imperialists white
signed it in the midnight while we
were sleeping, the cock has crown,
we have brushed our teeth, and
taken our bath. Our eyes have
opened to look for the
amalgamation treaty and do
something about it.

No Northerner can sleep with his
eyes closed in the Southern part of
Nigeria and no Southerner can do
the same in the North. Inter
marriage is a Taboo.

After 100years we are still
importing toothpicks, going abroad
for medical checkup, our lucrative
cash crops has gone to moribund,
Education for all by the year 2050,
Unemployment is a baptismal
name for graduates, a police officer
cannot boast of his work because
of vestige of his salary, our
Obasanjo Space Center and Satellite
Office at Abuja can not trace the
location of Sambisa Forest.

And I repeat it again, who and who
signed this treaty.

These are serious questions. I keep asking myself these questions, as i do not see any likeness between me and a Fulani. We are too different, our way of thinking is different, or is it culture? We are too damn different. Take away the Hausas and Fulanis, Nigeria will be a better place.

Of course, war is what brought us together, war is what will separate us one day. Don't tell me you're scared already.

The British did. They felt that instead of running 2 seperate companies, why not just merge them together and use less staff to run it.

The contraption called Nigeria today was actually 2 British companies merged, Royal Niger Company and Niger Coast Comapany.

You don't have to look exactly like a Fulani or share the same religion or culture to belong to the same country as long as the right of every citizen is protected.

You made a valid point. But this is not applicable in Nigeria. Here, the rights of citizens are either trampled upon or overlooked. Individual values are different and so are our way of viewing things. People tend to view things through the prism of tribe, ethnicity, political affiliation and status. All of these factors are what limits us as an entity.

Well, let me widen your understanding on that.

When the British first arrived Africa, they met Biafrans and they were addressed as such and slaves that were shipped from that area were categorized as coming from the bight of Biafra. Biafra then covered all of what they call today South East/South South but not Benin.

The British had difficulties colonizing Biafrans as they resisted the British lording it over them, from Igbo to Ijaw and from Urhobo to Itsekiri - they all rejected colonialism. You can imagine how humiliated the British felt that black monkeys and slaves rejected their superiority. Eventually, Biafra was conquered and subsequently made a British protectorate on 10th June 1849.

However, the British might have decided to punish the Biafrans for rejecting their superiority. Seeing the Hausa/Fulani as weilding tools to be used as house slaves against the field slaves. This is why you notice Biafra throws up a whole lot of bile in the North than anywhere else. Biafra existed as a geographical expression of it's own. You may try to deny it, but this is an unavoidable truth.
