WE MUST CONTINUE

This year's September brought about an event that will forever live in infamy in our hearts. Murderous and blood thirsty thugs of the nigerian criminal enterprise in crass villainy assaulted peaceful Igbos in their very own homeland in a manner most abominable and barbaric even by African standards. Our enemies laughed at us and our supposed friends kept mute. Our enemies became even more boastful but why did they do this, because they thought we are finished. Even the blood thirsty Gestapo of the nigerian state claimed victory but I have old news for them, we remain resolute, undefeated, unsilenced, undetered, unmoved, unshaken. We are not afraid before our enemies, we must continue.
This is not the first assault, this is not the second assault, it definitely will not be the last assault but every time assault comes those heavenly words of encouragement ring through our hearts driving us to the finish line, to the very great banquet of total freedom we must continue.
They killed over 3 million, destroyed our homes, destroyed our land. They shot us, starved us, bombed us, surrounded us for annihilation in a hateful bid to silence the Igbo race forever and through all these the world kept silent. The only friends we had were our selves yet we were not deterred. We fought alone and with that same determination we were ready to fight the whole world for our very survival. If we did not have guns we used knives, if we didn't have that we used stones, if we didn't have that we used our bare hands and if our hands had been blown away by the enemy's bombs then we used our teeth. That was because we had an unshakable faith in our exceptional destiny which is total freedom, total glory, total power, a brilliant beacon of light and hope for the entire world.
Every time we were knocked down we stood right back up, we were knocked down again and yet again would we stand back up, we became "standing man".
Policy after policy, conspiracy after conspiracy, riot after riot, pogrom after pogrom, killing after killing, humiliation after humiliation those blessed words strengthened our hearts telling us we must continue on to glory, we must continue on to power, we must continue on to happiness, we must continue on to total liberation, we must continue.
And the Igbo man has continued on to this very day unto the ultimate goal, unto the glorious prize which is a new golden age of liberty and glory. Having total confidence in God that no one can stop our quest, no one can stop our march not men, not women, not spirits, not nature, not demons, not angels, not even the devil. No one, absolutely no one can stop us, no one can stand on our way because Igbo blood has been spilled and we are determined and no matter what we must continue.
Therefore throw down every encumbarance that is hindering your march to Biafra that mighty and resplendent bastion of liberty and splendour, get up and march and don't be tired because no matter the friendship, marriage, blood, property we must be willing to sacrifice all to get to the final goal, to the ultimate price. We must achieve the goal for which so much blood has been spilled and so many sacrifices have been made. We cannot give up now, not ever we must continue.
We cannot forget why we have stepped on this path. We cannot afford to place our hands on the plough and look back because there is nothing to look back to. There is no one nigeria, that fraud from the pit of hell has been dashed to pieces. We must keep on fighting, we must continue.
This is our Volgograd and there is no land behind the Volga. We can only march forward all bridges have been burned and only the sea of darkness, despair, barbarity and slavery remain behind. Therefore there is only one way and that is forward. We must press on, we must continue. There is no going back now because there is nothing to go back to. We must continue hoping, we must continue marching, we must continue fighting, we must continue pressing on, we must continue.
And when humiliation and jeers come from our enemies and the pangs of fear and despair creep up ever so slyly on us and we are tempted to discouragement we must remember we are beaten but not broken, bloodied but not bowed, assaulted but not destroyed. We must remember that a mighty host of Igbo heroes who have gone before us are looking on and cheering us from the balconies of heaven. We cannot afford to disappoint them and our descendants. We cannot afford to stop by the way side no we cannot do that, we must continue.
