My dear Nigerian Police
Bringer of unity and coordinator of peace
I hail your teeny good amidst your numerous bads
You claim to be our friend
Yet our backs are tattooed with scars from your whips

You make the guiltless ones become the guilty
After your pocket have been filled with coins of corruption
When are we gonna be free from your oppression?
We are in total depression

"Bail is free" is what you say
Yet you attack us with hefty monetary demands that we can't pay
Our rights have been deprived by you
And you still give us enormous strife too

You were supposed to be the drug to our aches
You were supposed to give your best for our sakes
But you ended up being the reason why we can't sleep
The reason why we have sad song on our lips
The disappointment you give us is but steep

We thought you would be our hero
But the chants you leave us with is that of sorrow
We are fed up and stressed up
Be our mentor
And not our tormentor
Rekindle our hopes that is burnt to ashes
This is a lone voice speaking the heart of the masses.
