Lagos Vs Abuja ! Let's Compare by Afam4eva(m): 11:50am On Mar 09, 2010
I think it's high time we compared the two most important cities in Nigeria. While one is econonomic and more fast paced city(Lagos), the other is clean, green and more livable(Abuja). Let's be objective in our comparisons, considering every imperatives possible like transport system, beauty, weather, cosmopolitan nature etc.

what is there to compare again? You have concluded Abuja is "livable" and that does it for me. Although I live in Lagos, I'd prefer the 'life' in Abuja a million times over.

I'll go first.

 1. Cleanliness : Abuja beats lagos hands down, hands up, hands anything. lagos is the dirtiest city i've ever been to. It can only be rivalled by Onitsha.

2. Fast paced : Lagos is definitely more fast paced than Abuja. Abuja is sorta boring.

3. Transport system : The Abuja government will have to do something about their transport system. Lagos leads in this regard.

4. Beauty : Abuja is not that much of a beautiful city, it's just clean and plain but it definitely beats Lagos hands down.

5. Weather : I prefer the Lagos weather. Abuja can be annoyingly hot. Anyway that's why the pure water industry thrives.

6. Diversity : I'd say Lagos is more diverse even though the media does not portray how diverse it truely is.

I was one of those lagosians that swear that they can't live in any other part of Nigeria other than lagos but by the time i visited Abuja i couldn't say no. Even though i still live in lagos, i'm thinking of relocating to the Capital city.

yes, when it comes to social life and "fun" i can say lagos is ahead, but really, they have a LONG way to go.

Never been to Abuja, but from all accounts, I'd say Abuja's the better place to be.
