People are just telling you that it's wrong, without telling you the implications. Let say you used your official email to apply for some notable jobs and if the recruiters choose to contact you thereafter via that same email and you've been get rid of the current job, do you think you will always have access to the said official email ones you're out? At that point; you missed it.

OP forget about the people insulting you, they do not understand your angle of approach.

You might be applying to a sister company or a competitor in your industry and somehow this could just be a way to make the company believe you are truly where you claim to be. By and large, it is very wrong on all fonts to apply with your present coy electronic addy.

2. Your current place of work is only temporary, God forbid you get sacked today, how do you access that email box?
