Three aspirants for the office of the North East National Vice
Chairman of the All Progressive Congress (APC) has called on party faithful to disregard a call for a caucus meeting.

In a statement signed by the three aspirants: Dr Umar Duhu; Alhaji Usman Iya Abbas and Alhaji Umar Sani the group said, the sponsor of the notice for the meeting wants to installed himself to the position of the North East national vice chairman of the APC when there are other contestants.

“We saw with regret an advertorial in the Daily Trust of October 9, 2017 purportedly issued by a faceless desperado and code named ‘Organizing Committee’ calling for a caucus meeting.”

“In the advertorial, he is calling for the North East Zonal meeting for the sole purpose of inaugurating him and other self- acclaimed and nonexistent North East zonal executive members of the All Progressives
Congress (APC).”

“It is instructive therefore, we set the records straight and call on all the peace loving APC Members in the North East Zone and the general public to completely disregard the said advertorial as it is completely fouls, malicious and the hand work of a desperado whose
intent is to ascend the throne he was never elected to occupy. It is also important to also state that, the said advertorial is without the blessings of either the National Chairman of the APC, the Deputy National Chairman – North who was supposed to be the convener and indeed, the National Working Committee of the APC,” the contestants said.

“We are therefore resolute and will leave no stone on turned to ensure that, no such imprudent and fruitless exercise take place anywhere in the North East being the original jurisdiction for such exercise, until the right thing is done by the Leadership of the APC,” the contestants added.
