Britain assures Nigeria commitment on trade, economic development

British Government has reassured Nigeria of its commitment to trade and economic development of the nation, saying government relevant agencies have been positioned to offer interventions and supports such that would enable the country attain its potential.

Besides, Nigerian in Britain tasked Central Bank of Nigeria (CBN) Governor, Godwin Emefiele, to dedicate more focus to policies that could help better Nigerian economy.

The group of Nigerians in Diasporas, who reacted to the CBN’s boss alleged suggestion which accused citizens of Nigeria living abroad not to be contributing enough to revamp Nigerian economy, said that those of who live over sea were direct foreign investors and that they deserve commendations.

Meanwhile, their response came at a policy forum titled “Policy Roundtable on Business and Sustainable Development”, hosted by British Prime Minister’s Envoy on Trade to Nigeria, John Howell, and Private Parliamentary Secretary to the Secretary on International Trade, Iain Stewart, in London, where some of the Nigerians charged Emefiele on friendly monetary policy to encourage Nigerians in Diaspora.

At the gathering, Howell reiterated that the UK’s was committed to trade relation and development of Nigeria, and that his country’s government would to continue to put it best ensure tie between the two nations goes stronger.
