My own bank nah to dey charge like 'foreign runs babe' them sabi, 'card maintenance' like say them dey change 'oil' and 'plug' 4 the atm card, one day i will act drama because i will walk into one of their branches and insist they 'maintain' my card since they charge for it.......... angry

Of the five or so commercial banks in Nigeria that I've patronised, there is one I can rate above UBA in the area of defrauding customers. Even to check your account balance, UBA must take money from you. Haba

They've all been stepping up their game since Wema Bank introduced the Wema Bank Alat digital banking. I think the competition is getting tougher.

I am in support of all this modern innovation in technologies in the banking sectors. It is an evidence of the growth being witness in the banking sectors in Nigeria.

However, I make bold to say that more should be done in adding value to customers savings in the commercial banks.

Many customers open savings account and leave their money for months to years but the interest the bank pay at the end of each year is laughable. To say the least, it is peanut.

Instead of spending so much to get modern technologies which is not bad, they should still make their customer that are banking with the commercial bank to smile home with some good accruable interest from their savings with the bank.

Big interest should not be for the big time savers or those who open fix deposit account. Saving account should still attract some meaningful interest.
