Answer is 300+0+0

grin But 100+100+100 is equally 300 likewise 250+50+0 and a whole lot of other combinations.
The spaces seem like a "free correct answer" option sort of.

Going by that logic, it would mean that number 4 is wrong, yet it is marked as correct.

Its quantitative, not mathematics. You followed the examples pattern i.e Hundreds Tens and Units

300+0+0 is correct

The pupil was initially wrong on Number 4 but the teacher was lenient.

The pupil's initial answer was: 8 hundreds 0 ones and 8 ones (Incorrect).

The teacher helped her/him change it to: 8 hundreds 0 tens and 8 ones (Correct).

You'free to make any choice but there is a limit to your choice of values.
The first space could only be from 192 to 290.
The second space could only be from 10-99
The last space could only be from 0 - 9.

But that No. 4 though

But that No. 4 though

The first box is to be filled in hundred. 200, 300, 400, 800 and so forth.

The second box is to be filled in tens. 10, 20, 30, 60 and so forth

The third box is to be filled in units. 1, 2, 3, 4, 5 and so forth.

This is quantitative reasoning and not pure mathematics. Going by these reasoning the answer is therefore

300 + 00+ 0
Where 00 is still 0

To the people saying number 4 is wrong, ur maths teacher no try. Before reading the questions, take ur time and study the two examples at the top, that's the guide.

Teacher was right. The correct answer should be
300+ 0 + 0 following the pattern of other questions and the examples given.

Mathematically the child could be right but this is Q.A meaning if you apply the pattern in this case Hundreds, Tens and Unit, he'd be wrong.

So op teacher is on point.
