most nigerian pastors won't be happy with the man. In banking sector they call it legal tender , in street language rabbah or cheddah even mmm call it mavro , school call it fees in church setting its called tithe and offering.

“Anyone who asks you to give offering for this crusade is a thief and should be reported immediately,” the sponsors of the crusade, Christ for All Nations, warns participants on Thursday at the crusade ground.

This is coming on the heels of suspicion that certain unscrupulous persons might want to malign the credibility of the preacher by seizing the opportunity offered by the huge crowd at Bonnke’s crusade to raise money for personal use.

Observers opine that Bonnke’s decision is a radical departure from what critics see as “normal practice” by some open-air preachers who urge crusade participants to donate money for offering and other projects.

A respondent, 50-year-old Mr. Ifeanyi Duru, said Bonnke’s decision to not raise offerings at his crusades is “an attestation to his sincerity” in only being concerned about “the salvation of souls.”

Duru recalled that as a student in the University of Benin in the mid 1980s, a popular preacher from the region (name withheld) had to contend with the activities of people he described as “rogues” who tried to raise unofficial offerings from the crowd.

“The preacher, who is now late, had decided to collect offering during his open-air crusades, but some unscrupulous persons tried to outsmart him,” Duru said.

He added that the popular preacher beat the thieves to their game by having different colours of offering bags for each night of the week-long crusade.

“The colours to be used were announced just a few seconds to the commencement of each offering collection; and because the rogues had no prior idea, they were defeated in their purpose,” Duru said.

He, however, commended Bonnke’s “caring heart” for refusing to succumb to what he called “the temptation to exploit the crowd,” who he said would have given “generously” if asked.

African type of religion is nothing but a charade of deceits and Chicanery, only to placate the minds of the masses.

Religion is part of the reason we're here today. While most developed countries put in place good measures to bring heaven on earth, Africans on the other hand, only believe that despite your meagre living conditions, believe that there's a place up there. Keep suffering and smiling because there's a reward for your humility and perseverance.

Any accusation on any supposed man of God will be taken with a punch of salt because they are angels and can do no wrong. Anyone that airs different views to their ideology is immediately termed agent of darkness.

Africa still have a long way to go but I can only hope people see the light before it's ruined.

I don't know the specific number of churches that have missions department but I know RCCG has. My branch in Lagos has at least 5 mission fields that I know of including one in the Bahamas

He is an Evangelist not a Pastor. He has no flock so needs no offerings. It is not the same thing as running a church. Evangelists aee like midwives. They take delivery at new birth, but it takes a mother to raise a child and tell me it doesn't require funding.

My dear. Christianity in Nigeria has gone astray . I still recall how churches used to be home for the poor, build schools for the masses, provide medical and food stuff to the needy but now it's no longer the same.

That if you have brought an offering to give; go to your local church on Sunday morning and give. That no reaping without sowing.

It was Daniel Kolenda that said it; he only said they dont collect offering at crusade because some people in America and Europe have given sacrificially.. That people should give that offering at their local church Sunday morning.It is not good for people spreading half truth

That’s tru but not only Europeans and Americans, I live in Nigeria but donate to CFAN crusades anytime I can.

However it also does not mean the evangelist is against tithes and offerings. But crusades normally have varied formats and some evangelist want to avoid the money issues
