Federal government has stated that it can only cater for air ambulance for the ailing
second Republic Vice President, Dr. Alex Ekwueme.
Sources told Vanguard on Sunday that the Federal Government has reneged on its promise to bear the full cost of treatment and transportation of the elder statesman to a hospital in London, and referred the issue to the Anambra State government where
Ekwueme hails from.
According to the sources, the Chief of Staff to President Muhammadu Buhari, who released an Air Ambulance to take Ekwueme
to London, informed the Ekwueme family that was the extent the government could
go.
President Muhammadu Buhari had early in November ordered that Alex Ekwueme, ailing former vice-president, be flown abroad for medical treatment.
Garba Shehu, senior special assistant on media and publicity to the president, had also said Buhari gave the order after he
received a brief on the medical condition of the former vice-president.
Shehu explained that the approval given by Buhari would cover the cost of chartering an air ambulance for the journey and the cost of his treatment.

Now that he's alive, the government is not willing to take responsibility of his health . When he dies, the same government will be shedding crocodile tears of a great loss!

Why make the promise in the first place? Nigeria is a strange country, without any sense of reasoning or thought. If you cannot take care of a high profile citizen as a former VP, who will you care for abi is it Nigerian that are in IDP camps or those been maltreated in other countries?

Little wonder those lacking all sense of patriotism loot the country dry when the opportunity presents itself. Meanwhile Abba Kyari has a promissory letter that his medical bills will be covered by the government
