Italy failed to over turn a 1-0 way lose to Sweden, playing out a barren draw at home there by missing out of the 2018 FIFA World cup in Russia.
Gianluigi Buffon was in tears as he confirmed his retirement from international play after Italy’s failure to qualify for the 2018 World Cup, and the football world reacted on Twitter.

Buffon is a buffoon, you leave when the ovation is loudest, Cannavaro, Zidane, Beckham, Rooney, Zlatan etc all left international football at their peak to give room for the younger ones. Buffon has been in goal for Italy for 20yrs now, when Italy lost scandalously to Spain at Euro 2012 finals was when Buffon was supposed to have retired from international football but he unwisely refused to do so till he earned the unenviable record of being the Italian keeper and captain who failed to qualify Italy for the world cup for the 1st time in 60yrs.
