Your Son, Ngige Would Have Been In Saraki's Position - Presidency Blames Igbos by JideAmuGiaka: 10:51am On Nov 18, 2017
Nigeria’s presidency on Friday lambasted people of the South-east, declaring that Minister of Labour, Chris Nigige, would have emerged Senate President, if he was re-elected as Senator.

Former Kwara governor, Bukola Saraki, also a member of the ruling APC, is the current leader of the country’s federal legislature.

This position of the presidency is contained in an article titled ‘Wise men still come from the East’ written by presidential spokesman, Femi Adesina.

The essay was a review of President Muhammadu Buhari’s visit to Ebonyi and Anambra states on Tuesday and Wednesday.

He lamented that the South-east, aside ignoring Buhari whom he said got meagre votes from the region, failed to seize the opportunity to clinch Senate Presidency.

Adesina wrote, “To make matters worse, the East had refused to re-elect its own son, Dr Chris Ngige, as senator. If Ngige had been given a mandate, he would have effortlessly emerged Senate President, and see what the region would have benefitted.

“But the large number opted for self-immolation, voted Ngige out, and later began to scream marginalization. But if you ask me, it was a self-inflicted wound. Result of poor politics.

“You know what the mistakes of 2015 did to Ndigbo? It consigned them to perpetual opposition politics, playing in the periphery. For such an illustrious and enterprising people, that was unfortunate, if not tragic.

“If they continued that way, there was no silver lining in the sky for the future. Nigeria is configured in a way that the person who builds the largest coalition is the one who can emerge President.

”The Igbo should naturally produce the President one day, that is what fairness demands. But how would that ever happen, if they continued to play poor politics? If you continue to swim in small pools, you stand the risk of being submerged in bigger waters. But now, things are changing. The wise men are making a difference.”

Saraki emerged as the senate president againest the wishes of APC.Ngige is in political wilderness in the South East. Why did the APC govt refuse to reward Ogbonnaya Onu for political loyalty by appointing him Sec to the govt of the Federation?Enough of lies and propaganda.Buhari is our president and he has four years to either impress NDIGBO for their votes or face the same 2015 scenario in the 2019 election.Igbos may not be good politicians but we are direct to the point when we take a stand...This APC govt is an embarrasment to Nigeria。To make matters worse, the only APC governor in the South East is owing salaries, engaging in political tomfoolery and erecting statues. You will not decieve anybody again.Show us some tangible project please.

a man who claim to be popular but fail to win election 3 times despite his popularity.

election is won on wining 4 of the 6 zones, simple!

the south east lost simply because the NC and the SW supported buhari same thing that happened in 2011 in favour of GEJ.

cut all those crap,in 2019 if PDP present a northerner we will enmassly vote against buhari and APC the only different this time is that all igbo groups,IPOB MASSOB BIM OHANEZE will unitedly ask all their supporters to come out and vote,he will meet us at the pool.

And who cares about the position? All our sons who have been there, how did it benefit us?

Buhari is from the north, can u compare the standard of living of an average northerner to an Igbo man? In Nigeria is all about positions. To what benefit was Johnathan presidency to the south south? Has Fashola being power minister made power more stable in the southwest?

My dear, to hell with you positions. All we want is either restructure or break up. And surely will come to pass. Time will tell.

Stating the truth will make them angry but that is the bitter truth

Next time they should be calculative

Lest I forget as long as politics remain game of numbers if free and fair the north determines who rules Nigeria, wise ndigbos should seek alliance

Nigeria ought to have outgrown this issue of Hausa presidency, Igbo presidency, Yoruba presidency and what have you.

This shows that the current government and leadership have failed Nigerians.

Nigerians must learn to vote based on performance and credibility and not based on tribe and religion. It doesn't matter if Hausa man rules Nigeria forever so long as he/she knows what he/she is doing, carries every Nigerian tribe and state along, appoint cabinet members and other appointees fairly based on merit and also considering/respecting Nigeria's federal character policy to ensure every community in Nigeria is well represented by sound, visionary, selfless candidates ready to serve Nigerians without being tribalistic or nepotic.

Nigerians ought to know that tribalism is the biggest corruption destroying Nigeria!

Nepotism is a deadly corruption any leader of a multi-tribal nation like Nigeria should be ashamed of committing.

You cannot fight corruption honestly if you as a leader is tribalistic, nepotic, unforgiven and bias. All these are biggest forms of corruption that has been dragging Nigeria down. We need non tribalistic young Nigerian leaders who see the world as a global village and not as their local community as being practiced by our current leaders of today.

But so far, we have witnessed leadership that's very bias, tribalistic, discriminatory, nepotic, hate-filled and direction less and if Nigerians are really sensible, APC and PDP should never be considered for the next presidential and governorship slots in Nigeria because so far, APC and PDP are failures from federal to state.

Rochas Okorocha is a failure, Aregbesola is a failure, Bello is a failure and many more of them.

If Prof. Osinbajo could leave APC and contest under another credible youth driven party, he ought to be considered because he seem better than who we have in power now.

But then, Ndigbo don't need any presidency at all, it won't solve Nigeria's problems, in fact the Igbo person that will rule Nigeria under the present situation of Nigeria now will be frustrated by many forces and then Nigerians will sit back and laugh at the Igbo people that they have ruled and failed. So Igbos should stop talking about anybody dashing them presidential slot but rather work with all Nigerians, gain their trust, and at God's appointed time, an Igbo person will emerge as president, they should never rely on anybody's promise of an Igbo president because that's total hogwash!

What we need right now in Nigeria are visionary youth leaders irrespective of their tribe or religion, who will serve all Nigerians selflessly without being nepotic or tribalistic.

We need young visionary leaders who think global than old recycled grandpas who think clanish and communal.

We need young, vibrant, smart, visionary, selfless Nigerians as president, senators, governors, ministers, reps, assembly members.

Nigerian youths arise and take your rightful place now, tribal and religious politics can never take Nigeria anywhere good, enough of this nonsense of a tribe and religion.

America is a great nation today simply because United States of America is a nation made up of every race, every tribe, every clan in the world who work effortlessly together to build a great nation that anybody can succeed according to his or her dream.

We need to learn from them honestly.

All tribalistic Nigerians should be ashamed of themselves....you tribal bigots in Nigeria in leadership and those that are ordinary Nigerians, shame on you all! You are destroying Nigeria everyday but think you are doing the tribes you are discriminating and sidelining!

We warned them but their hatred for other tribes made them cut their nose to spite their face. They would rather lose than allow an igbo man (whom they once loved and had voted for) win on the platform of apc.

Igbos threw away the number 3 position in Nigeria. At least they have ekweremmadu who has a penchant for licking the àss of North central politicians.

The classic case of: "You think you're doing me. You're doing yourself."

Very lame excuse. More of the same old way of doing things, promoting tribal politics. This is mere diversionary tactics, what has PMB done in the last 2years? Come 2019, Nigerians will ask themselves, are we better off today than we were 4years ago?
