After all, this is the Nairaland section and people always ask questions like "how do I insert a you-tube video? How do I insert an image, etc?" and I have seen tutorials where the OP was answered properly

It's a little involving, and you will need to experiment a bit, but you can get used to it.

Do it this way:

1. Select the text you want to color.
2. Click change color in the edit options of your post, and use any of the options there. We will change it to another color afterwards.
3. You will get something like below (minus the spaces i have added)

[size=15pt][ color = #PQRSTU ] Please change my color [ / color ][/size]

The PQRSTU above is the color code for the color.

4. You will need to replace the PQRSTU (whatever is there) with the color code for the color that you want.

Each digit in the code ranges from 0,1,2,3,4,. . .,9,a,b,c,d,e,f i.e. from 0 (minimum) to F (maximum)

You will need to mix the colors to get the one you want.
Maybe that's where the texcote paint idea can prove useful

PQ is the combination for how RED you want the text to be,
RS is the amount of GREEN you want,
and TU is the amount of BLUE.

so if i want pure red, its FF (very red) 00 (no green) 00 (no blue) i.e. FF0000 will be used in place of PQRSTU in the color scheme above

With good experimentation you can get something like a shade of cool blue
e.g. [size=14pt]79A7BE[/size] i.e. red = 79, green=A7, Blue=BE
