Why is Satan Called the "father of lies"?

In religious history, Satan has always been known to be a liar, one skilled at lying, and convincing people to listen to his lies. In fact, he is called a murderer and the father of lies.

This term was first recorded in John 8:44, where Jesus Christ said that "Ye are of your father the devil, and the lusts of your father ye will do. He was a murderer from the beginning, and abode not in the truth, because there is no truth in him. When he speaketh a lie, he speaketh of his own: for he is a liar, and the father of it".

According to Biblical records, Genesis 2 narrates that God places the first man and woman in a garden with trees of whose fruits they may eat, but forbids them to eat from "the tree of the knowledge of good and evil". When, in Genesis 3, a serpent (Devil) seduces the woman to eat from its forbidden fruit and she also lets the man taste it, God expels them from the garden and thereby from eternal life.

From the Bible account, did Satan lie? Were their eyes not opened? It was man's choice to make and it sounded too good to be true. Who would not want to be wise, knowing what is good and evil - be like God?

The Devil is subtil, we know, but is it true that he lied? Satan gave Adam and Eve the benefits that would accrue to them if they eat from the fruit: "then your eyes shall be opened, and ye shall be as gods, knowing good and evil". The Devil appears to be the good guy. Without whom, man, probably would have remained in the Stone Age.

Eve did not die after eating the fruit hence Satan didn't lie. If she had dropped dead after eating the fruit, then it would have been that he lied.

He's the Father of lies, he lied to Eve and then Adam, he taught his followers his demons to lie, he invented lies. He lied, fooled his hosts and instigate them against the creator, but they all failed woefully. He hate The Truth, Jesus is the Truth. His objectives on earth is to steal, to kill and destroy, and before he can steal at first he will first have to lie, that's why they use to say liars will soon steal. When he comes back and inhabit the Anti-christ, he will lie and deceive the ungodly world into destruction.
