mass cancelled out
10*100=1/2*20^2
1000=200
%=200/1000*100
%=0.2*100
=20%

height of slope h=100m, velocity of the body v=20m/s, g=10m/s^2...P.E=mgh >>> P.E=m*10*100 >>> P.E=1000m J...K.E=1/2mv^2 >>> K.E=1/2*m*20^2 >>> K.E=1/2*m*400 >>> K.E=200m J....Energy dissipitated when the potential energy is converted to kinetic energy=1000m J - 200m J=800m J....% of P.E when converted to K.E=800m/1000m*100 >>> % of P.E converted=800/1000*100 ( m will cancel out) >>> % P.E=0.8*100=80%...therefore % of P.E when converted to K.E=80%.

The answer is pericycle not cortex. You can make your findings right.

Since the question asked us to find the % of P.E converted to K.E, so the amount of potential energy converted to kinetic energy will be 800m J.

mass of bullet m1=0.05kg, initial velocity of bullet u1=200m/s, mass of block m2=0.95kg, initial velocity of block u2=0 (since a block is stationary)...note that after impact, they will move with a common final velocity v...using law of conservation of momentum: m1u1+m2u2=(m1+m2)v [v1=v2=v]....0.05*200+0.95*0=(0.05+0.95)v....10+0=1*v....10=v...v=10m/s...To find the final kinetic energy after impact: K.E after impact=1/2(m1+m2)v^2=1/2*(0.05+0.95)*10^2=1/2*1*100=50J...therefore final kinetic energy after impact=50J

mass of gun Mg=5kg, mass of bullet Mb=50g=0.05kg, final velocity of gun Vg=?, final velocity of bullet Vb=100m/s...note that the momentum before firing of the gun is zero (i.e initial momentum of the gun-bullet system is zero)...0=MbVb+MgVg.... MbVb=-MgVg.... 0.05*100=-5*Vg.... 5=-5*Vg....Vg=-5/5=-1m/s...therefore recoil speed of gun=1m/s.

length l=?, g=10m/s^2, f=2s^-1 or 2Hz, pie=3.14.... f=1/2pie*_/g/l....2=1/(2*3.14)*_/10/l....2=1/6.28*_/10/l....cross multiply...2*6.28=_/10/l....12.56=_/10/l....spuare both sides.... 12.56^2=10/l....l=10/12.56^2.... l=10/157.7536....l=0.0633m N.B: where _/ means square root. I am not sure whether the answer is correct or not.
