With the result of the Anambra election, I begin to wonder the essence of the election debate since the outcome of the actual voting is the opposite of that of the debate. The firsts become the lasts and vice-versa. In 2014, Buhari did not even participate in the debate but won the election. Same with Trump and Clinton. Are election debates actually necessary since the outcome does not inform the decision of the electorate? |

Obiano was given sympathy vote. APGA is the only thing Igbos have, they don't want to let it die. The debate outcome is inconsequential because majority of the electorate did not watch that debate. |
