Exactly, they are not serious and their price for subscription is not reasonable
Re: Where Is TSTV by jayson87: 7:25am On Nov 26, 2017
Champions league bidding round for 2018/2019 just closed and TSTV did not put in any bid. Yet they promised Nigerians heaven on earth. If you are going to do business, do I the right way
TSTV will never recover from the mess it got itself into.
Big time scammers
Re: Where Is TSTV by jayson87: 7:27am On Nov 26, 2017
FrenchyL:also startimes and Dstv. There is not exclusive broadcast right for FIFA world cup
Re: Where Is TSTV by 4llerbuntu(m): 12:17pm On Nov 26, 2017
What if they sub license?
There are tons of stations on FTA satellite that shows these things that are such a big deal to you sha. And they don't bid too.
Anyways having not collected 1kobo from you or anyone else, you cannot accused them of a scam
Unless of course English is our problem
Re: Where Is TSTV by soloqy: 1:30pm On Nov 27, 2017
You have no idea what you are talking about.
1) They never signed any contract with Bein. Bein have been saying it from the first day.
2) A contract is a contract and if they signed a contract (a binding document that can be presented in court), there is no way they would go and collect money from another person to scuttle you. BEIN is an international , well respected organization not some CD sellers in Mushin.
Besides, THEY CANT SIGN CONTRACT WITH BEIN TO SHOW EPL here when the exclusive license for sub-Saharan Africa is owned by DSTV. Bein has rights in parts of North Africa and Middle East.
3) You say DSTV has support from top people in government ? Well hello!!! TSTV was given 3 years tax exemption by same government from day 1.
Please, people should learn to view things without unnecessary high emotions. Be factual, be reasonable and be TRUE.

The guy has no clue what he is talking about .
Re: Where Is TSTV by jayson87: 6:47pm On Nov 27, 2017
4llerbuntu:Just an education, TSTV can sub license from Dstv not Bein to show premier league in nigeria. You don't sub license from someone who doesnt have the rights to broadcast in a region you are domiciled. This is what Nigerians failed to realise. DSTV doesn't have an issue with TSTV, they will rather sue barclays and beIN
Re: Where Is TSTV by 4llerbuntu(m): 7:29pm On Nov 27, 2017
1. you were actually talking about Champions League and i specifically quoted that .......... now you are talking Premier League
2. can you back up this your assertion with concrete facts or documentation you can refer us to?
NB: i am speaking from a legal background basis. its not what you *think* it is, but it actually is, and you can prove.
meanwhile, make more findings, Premier League sold 3 tier rights. Multichoice is not the only one with rights in Africa....
3. is there a particular reason you are so emotionally invested in this TSTV/DSTV issue? because it appears you are from your posts, and i can't fathom why.....
Re: Where Is TSTV by jayson87: 7:37pm On Nov 27, 2017
4llerbuntu:at the bolded. Dstv, owns the right for sub saharan africa. my comment earlier was, you can sub licence in a region not under your jurisdiction. Kwese also has rights to air premiership and champions league, but not in sub saharan africa, same goes for canal+ , startimes and bein sports. Hope i made myself clear
Re: Where Is TSTV by 4llerbuntu(m): 8:01pm On Nov 27, 2017
Kwese and Canal+ don't operate outside sub-saharan Africa. They definitely don't operate in north africa. see example in attached screenshot
So i don't understand these absolute statements you keep making.
Like i said earlier, you could point us to documentation that proves this thing you are saying.
meanwhile, do you know there's a language component to broadcast rights? like For instance Canal+ don't do English commentary broadcasts?
anyway, at this point, i'm open to concrete facts and not a layman's interpretation of a contract he has never seen or read. there's a reason why TV rights are very opaque. Even Multichoice has never ever announced how much it paid for rights.
anyways, for 2019 - 2022 Facebook, Amazon and Google are likely to jump into this fray, so all this will soon be moot
Re: Where Is TSTV by 4llerbuntu(m): 8:13pm On Nov 27, 2017
1 Official premier league press releases don't ever use the word "Exclusive" for Supersport rights. I stand to be corrected by an example.
2. I know for a fact that 2019 - 2022 auction is yet to be done, but somehow
the article that they posted for the 2016 - 2019 rights http://www.premierleague.com/en-gb/news/news/2015-16/premier-league-international-rights-deals.html has been deleted from their site
there's a new article https://www.premierleague.com/news/367485 on Premier league site posted 4th October 2017 stating that Supersport has extended their deal until 2022. which effectively means the price they pay will stay the same.
this is very weird for a Premier league that is completely focused on increasing the amount it makes from rights as they've always stated.
moreover, how u dey 'award' rights before the auction has taken place and rival bids entertained?
Interesting that this took place in October immediately TSTV launched. interesting sha, either way.
i'm just here waiting for the magic they will use to combat online streaming
Re: Where Is TSTV by Nobody: 9:30pm On Nov 27, 2017
4llerbuntu:don't mind him, Chad is a part of sub sahara africa and beIN is legally operating in Chad. why can't DSTV sue them? What really matter about TSTV is not a matter of beIN.. Their main problem is that they are not ready for what they are promising.
Re: Where Is TSTV by jayson87: 4:09am On Nov 28, 2017
4llerbuntu:Canal + has francophone agreements , our next door neighbors Cameroon Benin rep. Watch canal+
You need a better understanding of how this agreements work. Do you know there is another provider servicing Portuguese speaking African countries

sicobamty2:Sincerely ignorance is dangerous and can kill
Re: Where Is TSTV by 4llerbuntu(m): 5:33am On Nov 28, 2017
There's even yet another servicing certain non mainstream commercial customers. There's Sport 24 servicing ships
Do you now agree that the statement about DStv having 'exclusive' sub Sahara rights is NOT absolute?
And if it's not absolute, why do you think these other francophone, Portuguese and even Arabic broadcasters can't have sub licensees in Africa?
The only way to be sure that this is not possible, is to take a look at the contracts.
You cannot see the contracts because they are confidential with Non Disclosure clauses.
So you see, it's really not as clear cut as y'all make it seem. You can only speculate.
NB: I'm pretty sure I know know how contracts work better than you do, because I do that stuff for a living.
And it's funny that you keep referring to contracts YOU HAVE NEVER SEEN AND WILL NOT SEE to discount arguments.
Guesswork will never replace cold hard facts. Put up.with facts or admit you are speculating. End of.
Re: Where Is TSTV by texazzpete(m): 6:12am On Nov 28, 2017
I have no idea how the UCL rights work, so I can't comment on point 1, but for point number 2, Multichoice have the exclusive license for Nigeria. The only way to legally air EPL games in Nigeria is to sub license from DSTV.
Why does he have to 'provide proof' for this assertion?
Re: Where Is TSTV by jayson87: 7:51am On Nov 28, 2017
4llerbuntu:DSTV sub saharan anglophone is exclusive https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/List_of_Premier_League_broadcasters
Hope that helps too. See the list of sub saharan broadcasters. You claim to be a legal person, but i am disappointed, can't say much. Let me reiterate, you ca't sub license in a region your jurisdiction does not cover. Supersport can't sub license in algeria, same goes for beIN. Tstv is dead on arrival, we that have paytv experience knew this from day scratch. They promised premiership, la liga and champions league for 3k and i wondered how.. tell how is that going to work
Re: Where Is TSTV by Ijaya123: 8:03am On Nov 28, 2017
What with all said and done, I'm of the opinion that TSTV is as good as dead.
I stand to be corrected.
Re: Where Is TSTV by Nobody: 9:42am On Nov 28, 2017
Don't forget the 20gb of data.. That's actually the one that got people excited lol.
Re: Where Is TSTV by 4llerbuntu(m): 10:10am On Nov 28, 2017
Because I can also simply state that the reverse is the case.
In the absence of any validation it's simply your assertion against mine.
Where is the source of your knowledge that they have 'Exclusive'?
I already posted a press release on the premier league site that does not use the word 'Exclusive'
And we also know other people broadcast in Africa as demonstrated above listed on Premier League's site
Meanwhile, is the license now sub Sahara or Nigeria?
I don't care either way, but these blanket assertions are funny to me.
Re: Where Is TSTV by 4llerbuntu(m): 10:26am On Nov 28, 2017
You posted a Wikipedia link.(not credible, but even at that, let's accept it)
On that page, 3 broadcasters are listed for sub Saharan Africa.
But you say DSTV is 'exclusive'. I don't know about you, but that's not what 'Exclusive' means.
See : http://www.dictionary.com/browse/exclusive?s=t
Secondly, you don't really have to resort to ad hominems.
It's an intellectual conversation.
Your disappointment in my knowledge of legal issues is of no moment. Basically, na your problem be that.
You've been asked to put up proof of your acclaimed knowledge, you've posted Wikipedia. Then we discuss the applicability and validity of your source. That's all.
Incidentally that Wikipedia page uses the premier league website page I earlier said was deleted as it's source.
The fallacy in your argument about region is that you've said the rights are for sub Saharan africa. Which would mean everywhere except North Africa.
If your link shows there's 3 broadcasters for subsaharan Africa , how is any of them restricted in that same sub Saharan Africa?
If DStv can sub license, why can't those other 2 broadcasters?
I can make arguments to suit your point of view easily too.
Anyone reading can easily distill a few
But you see, like I've been saying WE ARE ONLY SPECULATING.
YOU DONT KNOW ANYTHING FOR A FACT,
I DONT KNOW ANYTHING FOR A FACT
That said, since this has taken the ABUSE THEM, Bleep is dead on arrival approach, I would prefer to forego this conversation.
I don't work for tstv or market for them. It's not my business whether they sell or not cos my money is not involved.
Hopefully you can say the same for DStv.
Re: Where Is TSTV by 4llerbuntu(m): 10:30am On Nov 28, 2017
Their test transmission on my TV is as good as dead you know.
Re: Where Is TSTV by maeshal(m): 3:53pm On Nov 28, 2017
Let me just chip in, in my whole life i have never seen a company that launch and begin test transmission (i stand to be corrected ). The right way is you test your product, launch and sell to the consumers. This is not about sentiment and the patriotic card, it is about credibility. I remember vividly the chat i had with their customer care which she claim that commercial sales will begin November 1st. How can a company launch a product and two months no single consumer can buy the product sigh. On the issue of beIN sport, i laugh when people claim tstv can't disclose their agreement. When two companies sign non disclosure agreement, both companies release a press statement that an agreement has been signed but details of the agreement won't be published, that is how non disclosure agreement works but there has been no press release from the beIN group till now. Now let me give example of non disclosure agreement, when supersport got rights to air premier league games, multichoice released a statement and premeir league released a statement same day on their website but details of the agreement was not disclosed. Lastly tstv claim NBC officials went with them to Qatar to sign the agreement, why is it that till today no NBC official has collaborated that statement. By the way nobody should tag me dstv agent or kwese agent abi startimes agent, people should be able to ask questions and get genuine answers but this is Nigeria anything goes

Re: Where Is TSTV by Chukapage(m): 10:44pm On Nov 28, 2017
jayson87:bro don't get pissed calm down and explain is it that no other company can have the Dstv exclusive right in the sub Saharan..like can't tstv buy the rights too??
Re: Where Is TSTV by jayson87: 6:54am On Nov 29, 2017
Chukapage:Tstv can buy sub license from Dstv only not from beIN. Dstv rights covers nigeria, kwese is allowed to show 1 live match a week nigeria. The Major rights goes to Dstv, so if tstv needs to get a sub license, it must come from Dstv
Re: Where Is TSTV by jayson87: 7:03am On Nov 29, 2017
4llerbuntu:The following have rights to show in Africa
Have you wondered why only supersport shows the major leagues here in Nigeria, despite kwese and startimes having their presence in the Nigerian market
Setanta england doesn't show any premiership match, but Dublin's setanta shows live matches. It's the same company, I hope the little rhetorics points a clear fact to where the jurisdiction of your broadcast rights cover
