I have always been fascinated by the words of wisdom passed down from our fore fathers.

I decided to share some of them with us

you my add yours

lets share the fun

1. the monkey that waits to see the hunter, receives the bullet in its eyes

2. it is only a tree that stands and does nothing after it has being marked for destruction

3. A bird does not tell another bird that a stone is coming towards them

4. He that swollows a pestle should be ready to sleep in a standing position

5.wisdom is required to kill a tsetse fly that perches on the scotum

6. the sheep that defecates on its body thought it was punishing its owner, not knowing it is punishing it self

7.the fowl that perches on a rope causes uneasiness for itself and the rope

8. one does not seek to out laugh the person who lost his lips in a laughing competition

9. a caged antelope is not asked "what is your problem "

10. when one is roasting yam for a blind man,he must keep talking so that the blind man would not think he is eating his yams

11.its not as though we don't want to give the monkey palm wine, its how to get a calabash back that would be the problem

12. one does not build a palm oil factory because one of ripe palm fruit tree

13. it is the name you call you call yourself that others would address you by

14. if size was to determine useful, the frog would be able to see from one village to another

15. the millipede cannot challenge the fowl to a race contest because it has more legs than the fowl

16. it is he that has many fruits that chooses which one to eat first

17. it is the man that has yams to eat that complains that cocoyam causes him itching

18. it's not when you have eaten the rat to its tail that you now complain that the rat is bitter

19.the cain that was used to flog the first wife would be kept for the second

20. when unclothedness promises to give you a dress first look at what its wearing

21.if not for the fear of its bite, the snake would have been a better rope to tie firewood

22. when a native doctor cannot cure an illness, it would ask for an impossible sacrifice

23.when fowl visit a native doctor, if it doesn't lose its beck,it would lose its toe

24. its either you eat yam because of oil or u eat oil because of yam

25. the goat is worried about its master's ill health, if the master survives there would be a party, if he dies, there would be a funeral, either ways, its life is at stake

26.where there is an open space, two men should not argue who is the better wrestler

27. the crocodile is too shy to bite but if it bites it's too shy to let go

28. the person whose head is used to break the coconut would not partake of it

29. the coconut did not want trouble, that was why it took its water up with it

30.the love a man has for its fowl would not prevent him from eating it

31. the fowl that escapes been eaten in one festival is only fattening itself for the next

32. he who is fond of telling lies should have a good memory

33 a child with no mother should avoid having injuries on his back

34. as men have learnt to shoot without missing so birds have learnt to fly without perching

35 that a person has a cap does not mean he knows how to wear it

35. the child who calls his mother an ugly woman is indirectly calling his father a stupid man
