Last night, the 22nd MOBO Awards held at the First Direct Arena in Leeds, United Kingdom. The ceremony saw Stormzy add to his growing awards haul as he picked up three out of a possible five gongs at this year’s MOBO Awards.

The London-born artist dominated the star-studded ceremony as he fought off competition from Sampha, J Hus and Skepta to be crowned Best Male Act and Best Grime Act. He also picked up the coveted Best Album gong for his debut Gang Signs & Prayer.

Now Wizkid was nominated in this category being the first African based to get nominated in this category and he didn't made noise about it. He was nominated alongside other foreign artistes like Drake and others. being nominated in this category alone shows you have what it takes to be recognized internationally and compete with others in such category.

Wizkid won this very category and it's something to brag about. I don't think he will make a noise about this like some persons, this shows he knows his onion.

The MTV EMA award(Best worldwide act) davido won a couple of weeks ago that made everyone wanno make weezy look like a failure, was an award Wizkid won last year(best international act) and didn't make a noise about it. give this boy some credit. He's on another level

I agree some of his songs lacks lyrical content these days, but that doesn't change the fact the boy is currently in a class of his own as long as the Music Industry in Africa is concerned.


I know if it where to be Davido that won a billboard award, and also an award for writing Drake's hit "ONE DANCE" The whole media would be filled with his usual rants.

Wizkid jumped on tekno's song (mama) and it's currently making waves same goes to Tiwa's latest hit (MA lo) thumbs up wizzy.

Both Wizkid and Davido are making Nigeria proud. Moving at same pace. Non is better than the other. Non is greater. Both won the best internationally and both also are conquering locally. Kudos to them...

I think that "Shutdown-concert" won it for Wizkid.


BTW that J Hus that won best song with "did you see" sounds exactly like Burna boy.

Your sense too much abeg wizkid has achieved a lot, and he is not crazy about it. He has put Nigeria in a good position in the music industry worldwide
