Suleiman, who led the committee members on an oversight
visit to the
Polytechnic recently said nothing is happening in the
institution.
Explaining the situation of the school, the senator said,
“when we got
to the polytechnic, a graveyard was busy compared to the
place. The
worry is that if the institution is existing, at least, there
should be a
presence of security personnel, but there was absolutely
nothing when we
got there. Though, we saw a good edifice occupied by rats
and lizards,”
Senators suspects financial fraud
Suspecting financial misappropriation » in the school,
Suleiman said
Federal Government appropriated about N4 billion to the
polytechnic in
the 2017 budget as well as monthly allocation of N140
million for
overhead yet there was nothing to show for it.
The Senator representing Fagge Constituency in Kano state
also said
that apart from the school being difficult to access, the state
of the
school does not show it is performing the functions for
which it was
established.
