It is a well known fact that man originated from Africa and then migrated to other parts of the world and settled around 60,000 years ago. This now obsolete model suggested that the earlier men evolved into modern men and left Africa for Eurasia around 60,000 years ago.

The earlier timeline for this milestone migration has recently now been set back to 120,000 years ago after researchers through the use of advanced DNA techniques and new fossil analysis techniques have shown that humans arrived in Asia much earlier than previously thought. The researchers, from the Max Planck Institute for the Science of Human History in Jena, Germany, reviewed research on early human migration and discovered that early multiple and small movements occurred before the massive movement out of Africa 60,000 years ago.

Pertaining to this late migrants from 60,000 years ago it was discovered that all modern non African population branched off from a single group from Africa around 60,000 years ago, even though most of the non African DNA is made up of the later, the earlier migrants also known as Dispersals have genetic traces that are still evident.
These initial dispersals were likely small groups of people and they left low genetic traces in the human population.
