The Man Atiku Abubakar! Nigerian Next President!!! by ATIKUAIR(f): 12:09am On Dec 11, 2017
Atiku Abubakar is one of the largest private employer of labour in Nigeria.
Atiku prioritise job creation in Nigeria as the major responsibility of the government, his individual record in employing young Nigerians is unrivalled by any single private investor in Nigeria.
Atiku has investments in media, shipping, education, and other sectors and currently employs more than 50,000 people in his companies in Nigeria. Atiku believes that private firms should do more to create jobs for the sake of the youths who are the epicenter of our country sustainability.
When I say #LetsTalkJobs
Anybody that want to serve as a leader should first bring out his record on job creation because anybody who don't have record of job creation can't build record of job creation because nobody gives what he have not, young people should ask their leaders their record/plans for job creation. As the Vice President from(1999- 2007), Atiku headed the economic team that spearheaded the job creation efforts of the government.
“As VP & head of the economic team, Atiku created policy to drive sustainable private sector job creation.
Atiku's private sector policy as he headed the economic team that headed spearheaded the job creation efforts, drove the GSM revolution, telecoms have created over 2 million jobs since 2002. The young people now working in MTN, Airtel, Glo, Etisalat & many other telecoms firms, are there because of those of Atiku policies when he was in government and was made in charge of FG job creation.
The expansion of Internet in Nigeria, & the young technology businesses now flourishing, is because of Atiku's private firm policy for job creation.
Atiku economic team also oversaw the banking reforms of the Obasanjo administration, he oversaw the banking consolidation, giving us stronger banks, employing over 1000s of young people since the mid-2000s.
For Atiku, stabilizing the economy, and fixing debt, the economy was able to attract investment to create private jobs, Atiku short time in active government build foundation for job creation Nigerians still enjoy today.
Atiku identified job creation as one of the most essential and urgent needs of Nigerians, according to the Nigerian Bureau of Statistics, Nigeria’s unemployment rose to 23.9 per cent in 2011 compared with 21.1 per cent in 2010.
In June 2013, the World Bank released a report, Nigeria Economic Report, stating that unemployment rate worsened from “12% of the working population in 2006 to 24% in 2011.”
“Preliminary indications are that this upward trend continued in 2012,” the World Bank stated.
Atiku believes modifying the way the machinery of the federal government works by clarifying and streamlining Ministries, Departments and Agencies  and the responsibilities of removing overlaps and operational redundancies by systematically devolving and delegating operational responsibilities to states and local governments, and  private sector organisations (commercial and charitable) to have job creation as a means of organizational achievement, it will will come about healthy competition. For Atiku, country has an increasingly youth population with over 53 million people between the ages of 10 and 24 representing about 40% of the labour force participation, in which when jobs are created, it will yield so much to our country's economy sustainability. According to Doreo Partners (2013), unemployment rate in Nigeria is growing at the rate of 16% per year with the youth impacted the most and accounting for three times the general unemployment rate which stands at 23.9 per cent; and a youth employment rate standing at over 54 percent.  About 5.3 million youths are jobless and over 1.8 million of them entering the labour market yearly.
In essence, too many of our young people, including graduates of tertiary education, are unemployed. Many of those who have jobs are underemployed and are engaged in jobs that pay very little and require very little of the skills that they have acquired in school. This is painful for these young people and their families and is wasteful for our society and our economy. The country’s unemployment challenges are exacerbated by increase in population, and expanding admission of students/candidates into tertiary institutions over the years that result to large turnout of graduates without corresponding job opportunities.
Ironically, every successive government had embarked on policies it believed could substantially reduce unemployment but with little result to show for it.  There was an attempt to link capital expenditure to job creation.  This failed to yield the desired results because there is no sincerity with government to provide jobs. Atiku believe that A National Action Plan on Employment Creation (NAPEC), pivoted by the Federal Ministry of Labour and Productivity in collaboration with the International Labour Organisation’s (ILO) Decent Work Agenda (DWA) Decent Work Country Programs I (DWCPI 2005-2009) and DWCP II (2010-2015) are the strategic objectives of employment generation, social protection, social dialogue and rights at work in key sectors of the economy, accompanied by regulatory environment to stimulate the private sector to complement government effort in job creation, but it's painful that this is yet to flag off which is a special job-creation solution for Nigeria.
