On the 14th Feb, 2017, I was arrested and
bundled away like a terrorist supposedly on
order from the Office of the IG (SARS ABUJA).
This was based on the malicious petition brought
and filed by an alleged estate developer Mrs,
Obiageli Okeke Okwubanego. Evidently, She had
paid a top police commissioner at the Police
Headquarters Abuja to oppress. The main issue is
on a real estate transaction gone wrong and the
unveiling of an impostor syndicate.

At the time (4PM) of my arrest, outside a
restaurant at the NCAC Arts and Craft village
beside Sheraton, about 5 non-uniformed men
accosted men with lightening speed, held unto
my trousers and forcefully tried to bundle me
into their van, in fact I had no doubt that this
was a kidnap gang, they informed me that the
were here to arrest me on order of the Inspector
General of Police. I then requested for their
arrest warrant, which they did not have,
however, after some delay as the gathered and
concerned crowd took out their phones and
started taking pictures as I was handcuffed
and injured on my arm while I insisted on
seeing an arrest warrant and knowing why I was
being arrested and so brutally. After my staff
and bystanders had taken photos and video
recordings with resistance as they where being
threatened not to video or take pictures, I then
joined them, with one of my staff who was also
arrested. Upon arriving SARS we both got the
beating of our live's before I was shown a
petition from the complainant.

“Re - threat to life” subsequently they tried to
get my staff to write a statement of assaulting
and resisting arrest, my eyes were swollen, then
the (IRT SARS) Mr. Sunny Obua (2ic) and Mr.
Ogunmuyiwa Saburi (IPO) then provided me with
the opportunity to read the petition brought
against me by the complainant through her
lawyer stating ‘Criminal threat to life and
intimidation’ subsequently I was detained at
SARS until the 16th Feb, when I was then
arraigned at the Gudu lower Magistrate court.
The police prosecutor (ASP Malik Taiwo) upon
tendering his application to the court, stated
that I should NOT be granted bail on a fresh
sudden count of “Attempted Kidnapping”
against me.

I was in awe, shocked for this was
not the accusation brought to me during
interview at SARS. Appearing before the
magistrate at Gudu Lower Court, on the first
count of criminal intimidation, the magistrate
moved hearing motion for my oral bail to the
20th Feb 2017, then surprisingly the prosecutor
came up with another charge of “criminal threat
to life”, the magistrate immediately noticed this
mischief and cautioned why was it not
mentioned together with the first charge?
This
time I had no choice whilst standing on the dock
but to speak out to the magistrate by stating
that all these charges were fabricated lies,
frivolous and malicious, my counsels tried to
stop me from speaking simply due to court rules,
but praisingly the magistrate (Hon U.Y Kagarko)
referred to a section of law article 148 of the
criminal justice act allows the defendant or
accused where literate enough can speak as
permitted by a judge or magistrate, hence this
second charge was again moved for motion for
hearing on the same as the former. It was now
very clear that the police powers allows for
fabrication any thing. No evidence is needed for
the police to take ones freedom.

Next, I was moved into the green Hilux van for
Keffi prison where I spent 5days and was
subsequently granted court bail on the 20th Feb
2017, having been represented by five counsels,
and to re-appear again on the 30th March
2017. Furthermore, my vehicle, a customised
Toyota Tundra and a mobile phone were illegally
seized and still remain at SARS as of today,
even after a court judgement was passed in my
favour in June 2017 for the release of my
vehicle and phone. To my surprise a fourth night
ago, I saw my vehicle being driven on the Keffi
Karu express way on the opposite direction, I
was so certain for it has very unique art body
features.

The IPO also claims that the vehicle
and phone is no longer in their possession in a
new counter court motion filed by the Nigerian
police force on the 25TH July 2017. This, being
another brazen fact being witnessed about the
power of police audacity to impunity.

Before my detention at SARS Abattoir, I had
heard a lot of inhumane horrific stories about
this detention facility, this time I witnessed a
first-hand experience, it had 400 inmates all
awaiting trial, the detention facilities conditions
and general overview is better described as
nothing more but the gallows, a notorious place
with a dark reputation, where torture is the key
ingredient for extraction of confessional
statement, one could feel the stench atmosphere
of the dehumanisation process, I learnt that
some of the inmates within these cells remained
permanently locked up for weeks, months
without any exercise or body stretch, some had
open deep cut wounds, limping with no medical
attention, perceptibly I began to
communicatively engage with the warders and
inmates alike, everyone had a story.
