Here are pictures of a woman identified as Folake, a survivor of HIV/AIDS who benefited from the U.S. President’s Emergency Plan for AIDs Relief (PEPFAR). Folake received antiretroviral (HIV) treatment at a CDC/IHVN-supported treatment site (NIMR, Lagos) that saved her life.

Her photos were shared by the United States Embassy in Nigeria in order to mark the World Aids day and also to show that HIV/AIDS is not a death sentence unless you allow it to become one.

They have discovered that once HIV binds to a host cell, the viral envelope fuses with the cell membrane, and the virus's ribonucleic acid (RNA) and enzymes enter the cytoplasm.

HIV, like other retroviruses, contains an enzyme called reverse transcriptase. The HIV/AIDS virus has even been isolated from patients during the infection stages, in the symptomatic phase. And one clown here is still doubting its' existence.

It shocks me how the human body works.
A disease, virus or cancer slowly wastes the body away.
All the person has to do is wait for death.
The worst are those ailments where the body sees it’s own self as a threat.
It then doubles up white blood cell production aimed at killing your own healthy cells.
Nature is a wonderful entity.
No wonder man created God as a bumbling explanation for its ways.
