Client:
Our client is an Indigenous Nigerian company dedicated towards the development of agro-allied production of consumable products.
They have their administrative office at Ikeja, Lagos from which you will be expected to work from.
Job Summary:
1. Successful candidate will be responsible for the strategic financial overview and is expected to apply financial acumen and business expertise to establish adequate and functional controls in the financial reporting systems of the business Unit.
2. Ability to prepare financial statements from the beginning to the end and articulate complex issues in a straight forward manner must be demonstrated clearly.
3. Responsibilities include reporting, budgeting, forecasting, tax, compliance and payables functions for the Business unit.
4. The role will also form part of the Business Unit's leadership team, provide leadership for the Finance function by managing a team of direct reports, ensure best practice and be proactive in implementing change as appropriate to Finance processes, systems and reporting. A good knowledge of IFRS is key.
Primary Responsibilities:
1. Ability to create a culture of high performance and people management.
2. He/she should be able to align functions and resources, and deploy people and skills optimally to achieve strategic priorities.
3. Able to present reports competently and confidently to the Managing director and negotiate effectively with business partners
4. Must have clear focus, give attention to details and be a strategic thinker who is focused on execution.
5. Strong financial/analytical experience.
6. Must possess People Management Skills.
7. Able to work to tight deadlines
Job Requirements
i. At least 6 years’ experience as accountant, preferable one year in an audit firm
ii. Degree in Accounting / Finance
iii. Knowledge of local and IFRS framework
iv. Member of local Institute of Chartered Accountants or equivalent
v. Technical knowledge and skill - IT knowledge (excel, ERP systems)
