The sultan of sokoto has waded into the controversy surrounding the Firdaus Amasa's failure to be called to bar due to her refusal to remove her hijab in compliance to the law school dress code.

The Sultan spoke in support of the lady stating that it is her right to practice her religion as supported by the constitution. To buttress his points, he spoke of how some Muslim female justice do wear the hijab underneath their wig when dressed in the way of the profession. He mentioned justice Aloma Muhktar and Justice Bukalchuwa as examples.

However, going through internet pictures of these justices, I couldn't find where they wore hijab under their wig as attested by the monarch.
