Nchenches: I don’t know Orlu….never been there! But from what i can recollect, there was a confrontation between the wicked Nigerian army and ESN which ended in Ikonso being killed! Uzodinma invited the army after ESN and the Fulani/sahelian savages were engaged in a fight! I may be wrong on the exact location but i remember the incident because it mirrored what happened in Obigbo and how Wike brought in the army too! I was furious at the time that any south-east governor could be so naive or foolhardy as to invite Buharis’ murderous goons to his state knowing how trigger-happy they are and how they don’t hold back once it’s Igbo lives involved! Could i have handled the situation any better? Sure i could! Seeing as how there had already been recorded incidents of attacks by Fulani herdsmen on individuals and villages in the south-east, as governor i would have ORDERED ALL Fulani herdsmen and any other northern elements to leave the forests of my state and go rent a room like normal decent people do….at least until calm is restored! Surely a governor should have the powers to do that! The problem i see is that most if not all the south-east governors of the time were too meek and it looked as if they didn’t want to offend Buhari! If my memory serves me right, i think Akeredolu ordered a stop to herdsmen parading about his state with their cows….i could be wrong on this though! |

ANSMEDIA: The Soludo government must begin to appoint community relations/liaison officers to advocate better environmental standards, it is not the work of the governor to go running after environmental sanitation defaulters! Who is the commissioner of environment sef? There are wide expanses of unpaved ground between the drains and the buildings in and around the Ekwuluobia bridge and roads. The owners of such structures should be made to pave them ........we know times are hard but a good mixture of 3/8 sand and cement will suffice for now! The relations officers should educate our people and ensure we have a sense of environmental decency and aesthetics! |

At last, construction works begin on the southeast zone's Infectious Diseases Research Hospital. It's a 200 bed hospital funded by the NNPC and SEPLAT ENERGY. Similar hospitals were placed in each of the six geopolitical zones of Nigeria. This for the southeast is located on the campus of Imo State University Teaching Hospital Orlu. The foundation stone was laid in June 2020. 6 Likes

Anambra Emerges Nigeria 4th Most Fiscally Independent State The State of States report obtained from the BudgIT website shows that Lagos(2), Ogun(3), and Anambra(4) States follow Rivers State which is No1. These are the only states that can cover expenses through internally generated revenue without dependence on FACC allocation. 5 Likes

Chikeluba25: What is the current average monthly IGR for Anambra?. Enugu is currently doing over 16b per month! |
Re: Update on developments in Anambra state-photos by IGBOPROMISE1: 11:24pm On Nov 29, 2024 |
pandax: I think they’re doing in the neighbourhood of about N4 billion a month. The governor in his budget speech talked of expectations that the state should be receiving at least N10-N15 billion IGR a month, and i hope they’re working towards this. The two state gov’ts boards of internal revenue (or whatever they’re called these days) should meet and compare notes to see how Anambra can plug obvious loopholes in their revenue generation. IGR of south-east states (especially Anambra, Abia and Imo) can do better, and it’s not for useless dick measuring with some insecure and obsessed busybodies, but so the states can have more funds available for development, education and social projects! Anambra, at a push, can and should return at least N20 billion a month considering its advantages in the areas of industry, commerce, its cosmopolitan make up and it being a transportation hub and a cross-road connecting three regions in the country! 4 Likes |

Provide evidence from an independent source not useless state government lies and propaganda. Forget about what states are saying they generate. In actual figures, Anambra generates more than any state in Igbo land. How can you claim to generate more IGR, meanwhile your state has thrice the poverty rate of Anambra. Propaganda can never develop any state. You people should keep lying and propaganda while the real development is going on in Anambra. pandax: 5 Likes |

pandax: Anambra generates N3bn IGR monthly – Soludo https://punchng.com/anambra-generates-n3bn-igr-monthly-soludo/ Enugu meanwhile grew IGR from 3bn a month to around 10b because they overhauled their tax agency. They have a simplified digitized tax system where informal traders pay once through an e ticketing system and formal businesses get a consolidated demand notice. In Anambra there are hordes of legal and illegal tax collectors. Agberos on the streets and in the markets. Anambra should request EIRS staff on secondment to its agency and relocate some of the deadwood in its agency. 6 Likes |

ANSMEDIA: I have closely followed Soludo's achievements and can confidently say they are commendable. From the revitalization of Fegge, Okpoko, Awka, and other inner-city roads to his ambitious efforts to equip the state with solid infrastructure, his initiatives are transforming Anambra State. These include linking major cities with dual carriage expressways, the construction of the Anambra Intercontinental Hotel, the establishment of the Anambra railway network, and the signing of various MOUs to drive development. Remarkably, he has achieved all this without resorting to borrowing, while also growing the state's GDP—a feat worth applauding. In the Southeast, leaders like Abia's Alex Otti, Enugu's Peter Mbah, and Anambra's Charles Soludo are standing out for their dedication to reversing the poor conditions they inherited and laying a solid foundation for growth and development. Soludo’s vision and commitment have made Anambra people proud, and we urge him to stay the course. By continuing to deliver good governance, he is well on his way to transforming Anambra into a first-tier state comparable to Lagos and Abuja. 11 Likes |

ANSMEDIA:poor in I beg to disagree.........I love the intention behind the painting of the bridge but the conception and execution are poor from my biased judgment o! What is the idea behind this project...is it art or science or what exactly? If it is art then the execution is an overkill! You do not have to paint the whole bridge na!! Usually, artwork on public buildings especially bridges is limited to the piers..............as this bridge does not have visible piers they should have gone for an art motif that is not so distractive and hypnotizing as that checkerboard geometric designs....looking at that thing makes me dizzy! na wa o! On a different note........I have not seen the much-avowed palm and coconut tree revolution that Soludo says is going on in Anambra state. I have not seen the planting of one single palm tree in any of the projects under construction in Anambra state. The palm tree is the most common tree in our environment.........am yet to see any one planted in the new state house, ICC, airport, or even the fun city..................no wonder we cannot stem the ravages of erosion! The Sahara desert was once very green like our forests! who is this environment commissioner.....he is still missing in action! 7 Likes |

President Tinubu Nominates ANSIPPA Boss, Mark Okoye As MD/CEO, South East Development Commission. Jcoleworld911: I see coconut trees everywhere but I do not see them in around The new projects Soludo is constructing.........we have to be intentional about these sort of things ...! It should not be left to chance and circumstances! The new Statehouse si a total of 35 hectares...yet I have not see a single palm tree nor coconut tree planted anywhere near that vicinity.........yet feet outside the state house is a serious erosion site! In fact I expected the architects to have incorporated a retention pond or lake within that massive site! So that runoff water from the complex does not do more damage at the erosion site! We need to update our town planners on latest best practices! 4 Likes |

ANSMEDIA: I truly admire Governor Soludo's determination to transform Anambra State by doing things the right way. I particularly appreciate how he replaced the traditional practice of painting road curbs dull orange or yellow with the more modern and professional black-and-white design. The state is currently witnessing numerous construction projects, and one thing they all have in common is the emphasis on high quality and professional finishing, which Soludo consistently insists upon. Whether it’s the construction of roads, the Ekwulobia flyover, the beautification of Awka, or the Solution Fun City project, the recurring theme is excellence and attention to detail. Governor Soludo’s commitment to elevating the standard of infrastructure in Anambra is truly commendable. 3 Likes |

Eboofa: I hope they will take tree planting (Especially palm trees or coconut trees) seriously. One huge deficiency we have had in Anambra is the disregard for proper landscaping with flowers and trees. Thus in the end our projects end up looking shabby even when the physical structure is top-notch. Imagine if we adorned the International airport parking lots with massive trees and flowers and did the same to the Awka ICC, by now those trees would have grown to give those projects a truly internal aura. The good thing is that it appears Soludo or his men truly understand this huge deficiency of lack of trees and proper landscaping with all Anambra projects, thus if you look at the fun city, they have already started landscaping with trees to ensure the desired ambiance of the environment will be achieved with the planting many trees and flowers in the fun city. 2 Likes

Jcoleworld911: I binge-watch Yangalife and Anambra1st son videos. They are planting ornamental shrubs on the road medians in those complexes. If you watch videos of the Enugu ICC, you will see they have already transplanted palm trees in the complex. We can do the same. I do not know why states in northern Nigeria can plant and nurture palm trees and other shade trees whilst we in the rainforest zone cannot. To be honest, I find it rather strange and tacky. Anambra state should set up a nursery for such trees! Anyway the most important thing however is that Soludo is working hard and effectively too but we want him to excel !!! 4 Likes |

Awka Millennium City modern/contemporary architecture is top notch. Very simple design yet emphasize clean lines, functionality and efficient use of space but what got my attention most is how they were able to build it exactly the way it looks in 3D prototype; accompanied by innovation like smart home technology. Good thing is really contagious... the good news is that all developers in the neighborhood like Bethel estate, Arnold/associates hv all borrowed the same leaf🌿 (style) from Awka Millennium city Very serene. 7 Likes

Chikeluba25: I am sure you mean the "southeast regional league".......... Anambra State has much potential to become a West African sub-regional powerhouse though! For now, there is immense work to do to strengthen our state institutions! Once Soludo can isolate the real source of criminality and insecurity in the state..............the tremendous power of Anambra's organized and informal private sector can be unleashed! Our people are tired of being harassed in Lagos, South Africa, Ghana, etc even here in Yankee....these bitter and aggrieved African Americans can be so resentful of African immigrants................ Soludo has surprised me of late........kudos!! 5 Likes |
