Excellent news!

The videos below are for aviation enthusiasts who would like to learn more about approach and runway lighting. I thought they were really interesting videos.

Good. At the intersections of this planned road with Nkpor/Nnobi/Ekwulobia Road and Awka/Onitsha old Road, Anambra State government should make sure that the contractor(probably RCC) do not repeat the mistake of Julius Berger of doing single lane over-pass at Atani Road, by initiating plans to dualize these roads, that way RCC will do a double lane over-pass

Roads to dualize in Anambra:
Amawbia-Agulu-Ekwuloba-Uga Roads (with a flyover at Ekwulobia)
Nkpor-Nnobi-Ekwulobia (with a flyover at Nnobi)
Nnobi-Nnewi Roads
Onitsha-Aguleri Road

As the link between Onitsha Owerri and Onitsha Enugu it will be at the minimum a dual carriageway with enough setback for expansion.

RCC are doing a superb job with the rehabilitation of Umunya Amawbia and you can see the difference between IDCs amateurish effort in Awka and CCCs in Onitsha both roads which lack basic median crash barrier.

The next governor should take a tip from what Sullivan did with Enugu by using one contractor for all jobs during a 4 term. It is cheaper to engage an RCC for multiple jobs than many substandard contractors like Tamad, IDC and Paul B. Moving heavy construction equipment around for small jobs is why they inflate the prices and cut corners.

What JB did at Atani overpass is a double (6) lanes overpass. Under it, is enough space for future extension

Thanks for the pictures to allay fears. You are probably right!

I had been wondering what the side tower in the Anambra Airport Fire Station was for?

Then I google Category 9 Airport Fire Stations, and realized they were required to have their own Fire Commander's tower at the fire station to be compliant with the requirements!

Wow! They are truly not cutting corners. They are sticking to international regulations and best practices.

Onitsha-Aguleri Road
I like your last paragraph. You can add Amawbia/Nise to Dora Akunyili round about Agulu to the list.

Stop claiming to know when you dont.. The road will terminate at onitsha to owerri road..

If you have ever used obosi to nkpor junction road you will understand to dualise that road will be extremely expensive because lots of people's ancestral home will be demolished.. Besides its a state road... Except you mean fg want to create a brand new road from obosi to awkuzu..
When some of you guys talk online i wonder if you guys re really from Anambra..
I dont know why someone from Nnewi Ozubulu Ihiala will want to get to Onitsha because u re going to Umueri.

seconded ! it makes better sense for people in Nnewi south like amichi, osumenyi, azigbo to go through awka etiti or nnewi/nnobi road and bypass onitsha altogether. The road that ought to be dualized is nkpor/nnobi road with a spur through abatete ( and not just cos of the airport alone), it will be way cheaper to implement.

Bros, nobody is attempting to dualize Obosi-Nkpor Road. There will be a GREENFIELD Road from JB Owerri Interchange at Obosi and it will pass somewhere around Obosi-Oba-Ojoto cutting through Nkpor-Nnobi Road somewhere around Umuoji or thereabout and will cut through Awka-Onitsha old Road and will burst out on Enugu-Onitsha Express Road at Nteje/Awkuzu, not too far from Airport Junction.

According to Ajani, tolling is part of the contract agreement. He said: “The entire project is divided into three phases, the first phase, which is in process, is about 11 kilometres.

“The second phase is the access road at the Delta end of the bridge; the other is from Obosi up to Enugu- Onitsha Expressway.
“It is just like a bypass of Onitsha when completed, one will not have any business entering Onitsha. The other contracts are about to be awarded.

“It has been procured and just to mobilise the contractor, Julius Berger is on site, the other one will be the other side, and the bridge is at 55 per cent completion stage.”

fine too, what we all want is good and safe access roads to Anambra's commercial and political capitals from all senatorial zones, the access road to Anambra south senatorial zone from Awka is good but can be much better!

Lalasticlala mynd44 seun, bossjamal and bossjamaz are one and the same person. He post and respond to himself, thereby effectively derailing the thread. Please we don't want this here for our sanity. Give two of them long ban(years) so we can drink water and keep cup here in peace. Now the thread is already getting derailed due to his post and reply all by himself.
