The leadership of the Movement for the Actualization of the Sovereign state of Biafra (MASSOB) yesterday attributed the arrest of Mazi Innocent Chukwuma by the Economic Financial Crime Commission, EFCC, as grievous insult to Igbo leaders.

The national leader of MASSOB, Comrade Uchenna Madu, made this known in a press statement signed and made available to journalists in Abakaliki.

He accused the federal government led by President Muhammadu Buhari of sponsoring the alleged abduction of Chukwuma.

The statement reads in part: “This invasion, physical assaults and abduction of Chief Innocent Chukwuma was consciously hatched, sponsored and backed by President Buhari led Islamic Federal Government of Nigeria because of acute and unrepentant jealousy against Ndigbo.

“The more the oppressors of Ndigbo vent their frustration and envy, the more Ndigbo are developing more technological feat.

“MASSOB declared that attack on Innoson Vehicles Manufacturing Company and its owner is an attack against Ndigbo, we shall never tolerate or keep silence on this wickedness against Igbo enterprises. We shall never allow this insult against our creativities go unpunished.

“The Guarantee Trust Bank (GTB) and their collaborators against Ndigbo are blind to see the dangers and bad effects their action against Chief Innocent Chukwuma will bring to them.

“MASSOB advised Ndigbo and all Biafrans to disconnect and close every banking transactions, businesses and involvement with the Yoruba owned Guarantee Trust Bank PLC as part of our civil disobedience.

“It will be recalled that Chief Innocent Chukwuma won a legal case against Guarantee Trust Bank at the Federal High Court, the matter which was strucked out by the court for falsifications and lack of merit against Guarantee Trust Bank was again been trying to be revived and backed by shameless leaders of Arewa people with hypocritical and systematic support of Buhari led Federal government of Nigeria.

“This intimidating and envious attitudes of Federal government of Nigeria against Chief Innocent Chukwuma has been the a political tradition of Nigeria government to frustrate the creativity and enterprising nature of Ndigbo.

“MASSOB shall never forget in a hurry the intimidating and envious actions of Nigeria Federal government against Ibeto cement company, Dr Ifeanyi Uba of Capital Oil and Gas, Prof Nick Eze of Aulic Nigeria Ltd because they are Igbos.

“Ndigbo shall never relent, subdued or subjected to cowardice, unproductive and blocked brains of Hausa Fulani who are always not comfortable with Igbo progresses and industriousness”, he stated.

Please tell us exactly what Federal Govt did, to ensure that Ibeto cement died.

Also, kindly let us know if PPMC/NNPC ever stored million of litres of petroleum products in Otedola's tanks and he sold it, without remitting the money to NNPC, because that is exactly what Ifeanyi Ubah did with Capital Oil. Petroleum products running into millions of litres were stored in Ubah's tanks, and he sold every litre, without remitting the proceeds to NNPC, the owners of the fuel.

If you recall, Esther Nnamdi-Ogbue who was the former MD of PPMC, was sacked because of the millions of litres that went missing in the tanks of Capital Oil and Gas Limited owned by Ifeanyi Ubah, who was later indicted for acts of economic sabotage.
