The Economic and Financial Crimes Commission, EFCC, Lagos zonal office, has arrested 13 suspected Internet fraudsters, better known as `yahoo boys’,  for conspiracy, possession of fraudulent documents and obtaining money under false pretence.

The suspects are- Badejo Tobi; Abiola Dimeji; Anthony Godwin; Osoba Adeboye; Adelekan Abiodun and Awokoya Oriyomi Yusuf.

Others are:Oyatayo Ismail; Coffie Meschark; Sylvester Amaddin; Olawale Farouk; Adeniran Tolani; Taiwo Michael and OyekanmiAyodeji.


They were arrested on Saturday, December 16, 2017 in some parts of Lagos and Ogun States, following intelligence report received by the Commission about their activities.

The suspects allegedly confessed to be involved in phishing, love scam, forgery, spoofing and business email compromise, among other offences.

Phishing is an attempt to obtain sensitive information such as usernames, passwords and credit card details (and money), often for malicious reasons, by disguising as a trustworthy entity in an electronic communication.

Spoofing, on the other hand, is a type of scam where an intruder attempts to gain unauthorized access to a user’s system or information by pretending to be the user.

Some of the suspects, who live flamboyantly without any known sources of income, were said to have bought houses and exotic cars from the proceeds of their criminal activities.

They were allegedly found to be in possession of forged contract papers of multinational oil and gas companies, banks’ instruments and forged data page of international passports of foreign nationals, among other documents.

Other items recovered from the suspects included laptops, flash drives, modems, one Range Rover SUV, one Toyota Highlander, Two Toyota Corolla and one Toyota Camry.

The suspects will soon be charged to court as soon as investigations are concluded

Crime is crime and it knows no no bound

My dear fellow Nlanders, I know that many of us love this nation and want her to be great. Unfortunately, that cannot happened going by our attitudes towards one another. The rate at which TRIBALISM is being propagated especially, in this forum is something that should give every well meaning individual serious concern.
What's this hate between the Igbos , the Yorubas and Hausa/ Fulanis? What are we dragging, can't we emulate our forefathers, our past heroes who only saw themselves as Nigerians rather than Hausa, Igbo or Yoruba?
I am not here to blame anybody for the tribal wars that has been going on since rather, I am here to plead with my brothers; Aminu, Emeka Biodun and the rest of us to please end this tribalism and hate. We are brothers and we need one another to succeed and be great. Corrupt politicians are having a feast on us because we are divided along tribal, ethnic and religious lines. It's only in unity that we can fight them and that's is why they never want to see us united and unfortunately, we are falling to their antics.
However, I suggest that from now on, let every Nlander stop responding to any post or comments found to contain tribal sentiments or hate of any kind in other to shame and discourage the individual from further attempt. Also let the Moderator take appropriate actions against such individuals. I believe this will go a long way to discourage tribalism and hate speech in this forum.
Moreover, Let's promote love and unity, let's promote our cultural diversities which make us a great Nation.
